TAKEN: A RP run by JayZX535
It's not quite as lonely now.
But it still wants you to join.
RP IS MIGRATING TO A NEW STUDIO!!! I WILL BE VERY SLOW TO RESPOND TO POSTS ON THIS ONE!!!
New studio: http://scratch.mit.edu/studios/516610/
You don't know where you are, or how you got there. You don't recognize anyone, and they don't recognize you, either. It appears that someone captured you and brought you to this strange, dark land, but who? Why? And most importantly...
How are you going to get home?
A quick reference of all the projects in Taken with additional info on parts of the rp
A map of Falgon.
Information on Shadow-Wielders, Shadow-Wielding, Darkness-Wielding, and etc. pertaining to such matters.
THE BOOK OF INCANTATIONS:
(note: No actual magic is involved and I have given my permission for this to be in the rp.)
MYTHICAL CREATURES OF FALGON:
-Bio template: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23814419/ (You may make your own, but you must include ALL the info sections in this one)
-No powerplaying (making moves that another person can't avoid, etc.)
-Your first character MUST be human, and you MUST use them at least for a little bit
-No limit to the amount of characters you can have ;)
-No godmodding (controlling another person's character without their permission)
-Try to be active if you can, and warn me if you know you will be going inactive
-Once you join, I will allow you to curate. If you abuse your ability, I will remove you from the list of curators. DO NOT ADD BIOS UNTIL I HAVE ACCEPTED THEM!!! THIS CAN GET YOU REMOVED!!!
-Don't ask to be manager, please- I will promote you if/when I feel you are ready. NOTE: Just because I don't promote you doesn't mean that I don't trust you. I might just not need more managers at the time.
-You may RESPECTFULLY question what I/another manager says, BUT you MUST accept their response.
-Managers can accept your bios, BUT I can overrule them if I deem it necessary.
-No creating characters with powers straightaway unless you are a manager. You may ask me later on to have a power, BUT YOU MUST BE AS ACTIVE AS YOU CAN BE FOR ME TO CONSIDER IT. I will decide if your power is acceptable for the rp.
-No magic, religious references, or anything inappropriate.
-Romance MUST remain G-rated
-Violence MUST remain PG-rated or under (if I feel you are being too violent, I will let you know to tone it down. Further infractions can result in warnings or bans)
-NO foul language (cursing, speaking inappropriately, etc. This *includes* "mild" curses such as "omg" or similar- rule of thumb: just be conservative. Stuff like "Darn", "Rats", "Dangit', etc. is allowed, but NO WORSE. Or do what Horatio does and use random words like "Trout" :P )
-Your characters MUST be modest. This means high necklines and shirts that come all the way down for girls.
-Three strikes, you're out. In other words, 3 warnings = ban. I reserve the right to ban anyone at any time if I feel they are behaving inappropriately
-Only I can ban someone. Only managers can warn them, BUT I can revoke any warning or ban.
-Arguing with me or a manager (in other words, disrespectfully questioning) is an automatic warning.
-What I say goes. Please respect it. If I tell you to change something, even if it's not directly listed in the rules, please do it. I add rules on a case-by-case basis and it may be something that has never come up before.
MAP OF FALGON:
It appears you have entered, by some means, a land known as Falgon. There is almost no technology here, and the world appears to be in a feudal period. Oddly, however, some claim to have located fortresses below the ground that have electric lighting... and still more mysteriously, no one seems to be able to find these fortresses twice...
Falgon is mostly covered in a strange sort of dark forest. The trees that grow here are often quite tall with dark wood and thick canopies that block out the sun in many areas. Some places seem to be shrouded in mist. Snow may fall in northern forests.
In addition to the dark forests, there are also swamps, grasslands, and even a wasteland or two. The landscape is dotted with small villages, where, if you are lucky, you might find shelter with its inhabitants.
There are also strange, seemingly empty watchtowers that can be found in the most bizarre locations- such as at the very edge of the cliff, or in the middle of a lake. Some say these towers hold a dark and deadly secret... others say that they are keys to unlock something. No one knows for certain.
Falgon is certainly not the most welcoming place in the universe. Prey is scarce, and the creatures that roam the surface are often desperate- so desperate that they might even attempt to attack a human, perhaps even a group of humans. Many of these creatures are unlike any seen on earth. It is said that some have successfully befriended even the predators, however to do so is very dangerous, and more often than not ends in disaster. Only those most skilled in the ways of the wild have succeeded.
Wolves of various types are the most common predator. Arctic wolves roam the snowy land, while massive timber wolves prowl the forest. Some say that it is even possible to find dire wolves in the lands farthest from civilization. Although extremely dangerous if provoked or when starving, due to the fact that they almost always are found in packs, most wolves will avoid confrontation except in the most desperate circumstances. It is probably best to leave them be should you encounter them... They do not have powers.
Bears also roam the land, particularly in the woods. Gigantic bears of a species unnamed on earth and known in Falgon only as the Nightlings prowl the darkest parts of the forest, their black fur blending with the shadows, and equally deadly polar bears roam the tundras. They generally live alone, or in small family groups, but even so can be quite dangerous. They are more likely to attack humans than wolves are. Ice bears may have a somewhat paralyzing stare. Nightling bears are known to be able to hypnotize with their stare...
Wargs also roam the black forests of the land, often in small packs. As they can grow to the size of a bear or larger, they are incredibly dangerous foes. Fortunately they do not often prey on humans, as they prefer to remain as possible from civilization. Let travelers to the lost regions be warned, however, should they venture into the wargs' domain... Occasionally wargs may have elemental powers, BUT THIS IS VERY RARE!
Wyverns are often found in swamps and misty regions of the forest. Unlike their close relations the dragons, wyverns appear to be generally malevolent, and often kill for sport as well as out of need. They often engage in bitter battles with dragons, and their eerie screeches are often heard echoing through the forest at night. Even so, spotting a wyvern is far rarer than hearing one- and woe be it to the traveler who meets one face to face. No wyverns are known to have been tamed. Wyverns do not have breath weapons, but they often have a poisonous barb on the end of their tail. This poison may have varying effects, and some also have poisonous claws.
Dragons, the fierce rival of the wyverns, are found in all climates. Although generally benevolent and extremely intelligent, like any predator they must eat, and will resort to attacking humans if necessary. Most dragons are of a small variety, ranging from the size of a large wolf to a small tiger, but larger ones can be found as well. These are far rarer, however. Some of the largest dragons can have wingspans of well over a hundred feet, but these are extraordinarily rare. They live both in packs and alone, and, unlike wyverns, can be tamed- though the relationship between a dragon and its rider resembles much more closely that of two friends than between beast and master. It is said that some dragons have even learned to speak. Most dragons have breath weapons, and some may have powers (typically elemental).
Drakes, a wingless variety of dragons, are also found in all climates. They tend to roam in packs, and will hunt humans if no other food can be found. Most drakes have breath weapons and can have powers, though it is rarer than in dragons.
Amphiteres, a type of winged serpent, are much rarer than any other draconic species. They prefer caves and icy regions, and commonly live alone. Although they do not often grow to be massive in size, they are considered one of the most dangerous species, as many have a venomous bite. In addition, the gaze of an amphitere is extremely hypnotic, and the strength of it increases with the amphitere's age. Some of the oldest amphiteres known were able to draw unfortunate souls of many species under their control within seconds of exposure, while the stare of almost any amphitere for even a short period of time will cause, at the very least, lethargy and drowsiness, often-times leaving the subject too slow to evade a quick strike of the amphitere's poison fangs. Like dragons, they are very intelligent, and some are said to be capable of speech. None have successfully tamed an amphitere, however, as their malevolent nature often leads them to pretend to be tame, only to devour or enslave their supposed master at the nearest opportunity. Amphiteres may also have a breath weapon or, rarely, a poisonous barb on their tail like that of a wyvern, but they do not have other powers.
Perhaps the rarest creature found in Falgon is the griffin. These majestic beasts are found only in the most untouched regions of the world- usually in the icy north, where their fur and feathers are white, or in the deepest parts of the woods, where they are commonly brown. Along with wolves, they are considered the most tameable species, though, like dragons, their intelligence tends to create more of a friendship with their "master" than an owner-slave relationship. Griffins do not have powers.
Different kinds of big cats, such as leopards, tigers, panthers, cougars, and even lions are also found in different regions of the world. Big cats do not have powers.
Smaller predators include foxes, snakes, and smaller species of wild cats such as bobcats and lynxes. None of these have powers.
As for prey, there are varying kinds of deer, elk, bison, and other hooved creatures, as well as many smaller animals such as rabbits, squirrels, and voles. All are good at hiding and escaping, however- moreso than on earth, so hunting is quite difficult, especially with the fierce competition with natural predators. None of these have powers.
There are also fish and birds- both predatory and prey. None of these have powers.
Some claim to have seen a strange creature in the depths of the forest at night- resembling a large winged serpent with four legs and glowing orange eyes. Those who have seen then have caught only glimpses, and report that it was around the size of a medium-sized dragon, but longer, resembling an amphitere in that respect. They have no true name for them, referring to them simply as "Legendaries", but say that their scales are black as night, and that they is most often seen on nights when there is no moon...
