Late on a green-leaf night, deep inside the plains lay a small group of felines. One, a tall black and tan patched tom with narrow, mischievous amber eyes lay, pawing at his father's tail in boredom.
Laying beside him, sighing in annoyance, was a pitch black she-cat with short, shiny fur and an orange tiny around her muzzle, ears, stomach ad paws with equally mischievous sea-green eyes.
Another, the first two's father, had a shiny black coat of long, thick fur and sea-green eyes.
Beside him, was a small tan she-cat with a red tint around her muzzle, paws and stomach, with bright, clear amber eyes.
Laying beside her, were three kits.
The first, was a reddish tan tom with faint black stripes and fluffy fur.
The second, was black with one one dot under her eye, along with white dots on her paws and stomach.
And the last, was a tan she-cat with lighter underparts, faintly spotted paws and stomach, and huge paws.
Groaning, the patched tom whispered to his sister.
"Urgh, I'm bored, Solis! We haven't had to be this quiet since that one time a fox cub followed us!" He complained to his sister.
"I know, Zancroooooow. Bah, their just kits. Why must they need sleep?" Solis sighed under her breath, glancing at her parents talking quietly.
The black tom meowed quietly to his mate.
"Fine. I'll name that one, you can name the others. He grumbled, glaring at his smiling mate.
"Naw, thank you Ignotus! Let's see.. I'll this black she-kit Coral. And the tom will be Iggy, after you."
"You know he's going to hate his name, right Lion?" Ignotus meowed drily, earning an innocent smile from Lion.
"Whatever.. I suppose I'll name this one Edith, then."
