NO PROJECTS THAT ARE THE STORY
Elizabeth Siry is my name. My mom and dad, they are my world. So when my dad was diagnosed with cancer, my world fell apart. We couldn't tell at first, since he is naturally bald. My mom treated him the same, and so did I. So I never expected to be sitting by a hospital bed with an unconscious man, called my dad. "So, Siry? The doctor said, "Yep." My mom said, in a clear voice. I said: "That is our last name, yes.", It sounded like I was swallowing back a tear. Which I was.
My BFF, Abby (short for Abigale), met up with me outside the hospital doors. "Mom says I can spend the night-she's staying with dad." I said. "OK." She said. She stared at me as we walked into the car. "So...your dad, he-" Abby started, before I muttered. "Stop talking." Abby's mom looked at me. "Elizabeth, sweetie..." She started. I looked at her. "I'm sorry, but, I don't EVER want to talk about him. Barely in front of my mom." I said. Abby gave me a bear-hug. "Feel better?" She asked, smiling. I shrugged, forcing back a small smile. "Guess so, ya." I said. The smile came loose.
When we got to Abby's house, she gave me a doughnut. "Hungry? You look like you could eat a horse!" She smiled. "I guess." I shrugged. I ate my doughnut while she licked a lollipop. "Any plans when your dad dies?" Abby's brother, Mark, said. "WHAT?!" I said. "You know, he's OBVIOUSLY not gonna make it, so I thought you had plans." He shrugged. Tears spilled out of my eyes. "He HAS a CHANCE! He's made it THIS FAR!" I cried-yelled. "No, he really doesn't..." Mark said, sipping a Coca-Cola. "You CAN'T be serious, Mark...!" Abby growled. "I am!" He said. I was weeping. "HOW COULD YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!" I yelled. "It's called HONESTY!" He yelled back. "I can't even LOOK at you!" Abby screamed. "What is going on here?!" Abby's mom shouted. While I packed my stuff-and finished my doughnut-Abby explained everything. Before she was done, I was out the door, heading to the hospital.
