COMIC COMING BY SUMMER OF 2018

Home is, home. My home is at the East 16th street intersection Brooklyn Animal Shelter off Kings Highway.
My best friend, who is a fair cat, Nikko, is a close neighbor at hand, of course in the kennel next to mine. He is a tiger, fierce and gentle at times. His fur is golden, and his back is striped with light brown streaks. His belly and muzzle are white as snow. He has eyes of the greenest green, they are deep and calm. He is so complex, and I am so simple. I am a piece of paper with inky spots scattered all over, he is the morning sun.
“Don’t you ever want to leave?” I asked Nikko, he stopped mid-lick as I said this, and his eyes went wide, “Are you kidding?” he exclaimed.
“No, I’m not kitten.” I joked,
“Ha, ha, very funny.”
“But, do you?”
He sighed, “Look Domino, we have everything we could ever want here. Food, water, shelter, and I’ve got you.”
I sighed, “I had The It situation,” Nikko gave me an annoyed look, “Don’t give me that face.” I snapped, and he gave up, “You know how sympathetic I can be but don’t push your limits Domino. And think, you turned him into a mutant lion thingy, you ruined his life too. He probably had a mate and family like all humans do.” I lay down, “Yeah, I guess."
Humans are two legged beasts with no fur. Nikko calls them Naked Mole Rats. They waste their words, giving them away like a newborn puppy.
The Newspaper is the humans way of telling each other what’s going on. Kind of like how dogs sniff each other’s rear ends. Don’t look at me like that, you’d do it too if you were me.
One day, I was on the front page of the newspaper, with The It as well. Now, I can’t read but here’s what is the newspaper read:
Scientist Hal Roberts Gone Missing After Experimenting On A Young Dalmatian Puppy
The puppy managed to escape before further notice, but had been exposed to highly classified chemicals. In the escape, we believe Roberts was exposed to chemicals as well. Roberts’ wife, Clarissa, quotes “He came home in the body of a beast, roaring, like a lion, he could talk. He was trying to calm me, but I couldn’t bear to see him like this. I had to hide before our child came to the Earth. No father could raise a child like this.” unquote. “We don’t have a clue where Roberts is now, but we hope he is okay.” says Captain Smith of N.Y.P.D. (New York Police Department) “It is sad, really, Roberts never met his firstborn, Anzo.”
We do know that the puppy, now called by the name Domino, is happy and healthy living at Brooklyn’s Animal Shelter. Domino has made friends with a cat named Nikko, and Nikko has helped Domino through his fears. “We don’t know what chemicals Domino was exposed to,” Says Captain Smith, “but we know what Roberts was working on. Looking through his files, he was trying to give animals the ability to turn back time. Domino’s parents were abused in Roberts laboratory.
His parents apparently used to be Roberts’ family dogs. Roberts was trying to give them the ability to shut down and charge electricity. Thankfully they had Domino before they were abused and exposed to shocks of electricity.
This is NYW and thank you for reading.
I was looking at the ceiling. The movie 101 Dalmatians was playing on the small television I have in my kennel. A television is like the glowing box I remembered. I watched it for a while. I saw the Dalmatian puppies running around with their parents. They looked so happy.
“I know what you’re thinking.” said Nikko from across the room while I stood staring at the screen, “And what’s that?” I asked. He heaved a sigh and purred, “If only.”
“I can’t stand this anymore, Nikko.” I said, I couldn’t sleep, not when I know there’s more out there. “The Humans build so many wondrous and dangerous things!” I cried, and he looked at me through tired eyes. “I can’t stand to see you like this either,” he meowed sympathetically, “I’ll take you somewhere tomorrow night, I know somewhere to go.” he sighed, “We can escape.” I looked at him with open purple eyes, “Thanks, Wuss Puss.” I said jokingly, “No Problemo, Naughty Doggie.” he replied. We smiled as I fell asleep knowing mama and paw were watching me, Domino, the one and only.
