"How much for the black cat?" Jacin asked. His eyes were soft. The clerk, a high school girl, was busy staring at Jacin when she snapped out of her trance.
"O-Oh um... $105.50. He had his price lowered, along with the other black cats beca-"
"I'll take him." He interrupted her.
"O-Oh okay." She realized that he shut her down and looked slightly annoyed. "Our cat products are isles five through eight."
"Thank you." He said, dismissing her existence. She got the message and huffed away.
He looked at the adorable kitten. Its fur was a jet black and it had white patches on its chest and stomach. His eyes were a beautiful yellow-green. He had a big bottom lip, which Jacin thought it gave him character.
He smiled at the small kitten. "I'm going to bring you away from this awful place.." He said quietly. " You are coming home with me." The tiny kitten mewed in response and Jacin smiled warmly.
He walked around the moderately sized store. He had a basket in his hand. He realized that he probably should've gotten a cart. He shrugged it off. He picked out multiple types of toys including a weird ball that made a crinkling noise when it moved. There wasn't any railing and the steps were connected by a minted tented glass. The first floor has two huge glass windows in the living room. The walls were a clean white. The windows had no curtains on the sides. The bedrooms were on the top, along with the master bathroom.
He sat on the rectangular black leather couch. Next to him, there was a cheap cardboard box with holes drilled in it. The box's length was the size of a microwave. It was as tall as a couch pillow. It was much bigger than the tiny kitten inside. He slowly opened to box and pulled out the kitten.
It looked terrified.
"It's okay..." He held the small cat close to his chest. "I'm not going to hurt you." He smiled softly. It didn't help. The tiny black kitten scrambled over his shoulders and made a huge leap- at least for a kitten- to the fell. It landed with a small thump. He saw a flash of black run under the stairs.
"Really?" The chase had begun.
"That took longer than it should've." He looked at the scratches on his arms. He looked down at the small ball of fluff in his hand. You really can pack a punch, cant you. He looked at the small kitten. He didn't look
