"Flowey?" Frisk frowned. "Wait... w-what?"
Asriel's face changed. Asriel had lost control again, and Flowey was, again, in control.
"Asriel isn't here anymore, Frisk." He said calmly. "Just Flowey."
Frisk raised an eyebrow. "What... how..?"
"You know, Frisk, this is your fault." He began to explain. "By killing even one or two people, you triggered memories of me in Asriel's mind. That's how I came back. That's why your friends are dying." "This is all your fault."
Frisk stared at the ground. If that was true... if it was really their fault... their fault that Asgore, Undyne, Alphys... Toriel... were gone, then why do they deserve to live? They began to feel like they didn't deserve to be the hero.
"... Kill me..." Frisk mumbled.
"What was that?" Asriel raised an eyebrow.
"I said kill me." Frisk repeated. "I don't deserve to live."
"No, Frisk don't! You're a great fr-" Asriel quickly switched back to Flowey again. "Of course, if that is what you wish."
Frisk walked up to Asriel.
"Get it over with." They said.
Asriel nodded, then quickly dealt a blow from his knife to their heart, sending Frisk to the ground.
As their Soul floated out of them, preparing to break, Asriel grabbed it and absorbed it before it did.
"What an idiot..." He chuckled. "They doomed the rest of the Underground to fall to my will."
"No!!" Asriel cried out as Frisk fell to the ground. "Frisk!! No!!"
Flowey laughed, and pulled Asriel nearer to him. "I bet you feel really sorry for your friend, don't you?"
"Y-Yeah..." Asriel nodded, tears streaming down his face.
"If you really do, then why don't you take over your body again? Go ahead, try. Right now." Flowey encouraged.
Asriel focused. He began to try to take over control of his body again. But right before he could, he felt another sharp pain, this time on his left ear.
"What did you do?!" He demanded, the pain becoming too much.
"I felt like I didn't need it, so..." Flowey smirked. "I cut it off." "You know, if this keeps up, you might just drop dead if you ever take control of your body again. You don't feel the full pain of everything, you know."
Asriel was silent, then, he burst out crying.
"You are a monster!!" He screamed. "You are the worst person to ever exist! You are the reason everyone is dying! You tricked Frisk into dying! You little idiot!!"
Flowey smiled. "You're breaking."
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Your will is breaking with every word you scream, Asriel."
"I don't care!! It's better that I become your puppet than to have to bear the pain of watching all of my friends die!!" After saying this, Asriel stopped.
No. That's how Frisk died. That was the mindset they chose, and it only led to more pain and suffering. Asriel needed to actually do something to stop Flowey. Asriel WAS the only hope. The only hope in the Underground.
"... I WILL stop you, Flowey." Asriel said, at last. "I don't care how much you break me. I don't care how many times you hurt me. I WILL beat you, or everyone will die."
"Asriel, you know that's not true." Flowey smiled.
"Are you sure about that?!" Asriel retorted. "Even when I WAS you, Flowey, there was still some of me in there. I still wanted to spare, even though I was emotionless." Asriel held his hand out to Flowey. "If you help me, maybe we can do something we'll both enjoy. But we can't kill people, please, Flowey, I know you're still me. We're the same, after all."
Flowey hesitated. It was true, there was still some 'Asriel' in him. There always was. Truly, Flowey was Asriel, but, as he said, dead.
"I..." Flowey murmured. "I... don't want to."
"I don't want to help you!! You're my puppet! I don't like you!!" Flowey let out, trying to sound as normal as possible. But truly, there was some change. Flowey seemed kind of hesitant about saying what he did.
Asriel smiled. "You're breaking." He quoted.
Flowey looked surprised. "N-No i'm not!!" He yelled. "You can't stop me!!"
Asriel felt like he couldn't breathe. Truly, he couldn't. Even though spirits did not need air, it felt horrible.
"... S-Stop... please..." He pleaded, but Flowey didn't stop. Flowey choked him until he felt like his mind was falling apart, and then, finally, he stopped.
"You will never stop me." Flowey growled. "Your hearts and flowers won't change me."
"We'll see about that..." Asriel, despite his pain, smiled at Flowey.
"Anyone can be a good person if they just try."
