I'LL JUST WING IT-
Frisk watched as Asriel left to kill the refugees. They made no move to stop him. Who cares if the other refugees die? Toriel was the person that mattered. She's dead now. What else is there to do now that she's gone? Frisk felt as if their real mother was dead. It was a horrible feeling. A feeling of despair, distress, depression. And there was nothing they wanted to do anymore. If anyone could help, it'd be someone who's dead. Like Sans. But Frisk killed him.
"If only I could Reset... if only I never made that deal..." Frisk cried. "If only I never did that..."
'Wait,' they thought. 'Why do I have to stay true to that deal? The lives of everyone in the Underground are at stake! Why can't I just Reset?'
Frisk felt a new hope pulsing through them. But when they pulled out the Reset button, their hope began to fade again. It was green. When they tried to press it, it just broke up into pieces and went back together again. It was glitching! It was corrupted!
"I guess it's the end then..." Tears welled up in Frisk's eyes. This was horrible. It was like a nightmare. Everything was going wrong.
If only there was someone smart enough to fix this...
'Alphys!' Frisk realized. 'Alphys is the royal scientist! She could help!'
They wasted no time. Wiping away their tears, they quickly ran out of the Ruins and towards Hotland. Their only hope was that Alphys was still there.
"Alphys!" Frisk called as they opened the door to Alphys' lab. "Are you in here? I need your help!"
Frisk searched around the lab, getting more scared every moment. What if Alphys was gone? Was she dead? Hiding?
'Please be here...' Frisk begged in their head. 'Your my only hope...'
Frisk threw open more doors, and even searched through Alphys' True lab. No sign of her.
Then they saw it. A pile of dust.
"Alphys..." Tears filled Frisk's eyes. "N-No..."
With a quick movement of his knife, Asriel removed yet another monster from existence.
"Pitiful." Asriel murmured. "These monsters are pitiful."
That was when he realized just how tired he was. He needed some rest.
Asriel walked to Toriel's room and got into the bed.
Closing his eyes, he fell asleep almost immediately.
"Asriel, i'm ashamed of you!" He heard. "Killing those innocents!"
Inside his dream, he opened his eyes. He was floating in black space, with Chara in front of him.
"And why are you doing it? To get revenge on a crazy human that only killed two people, and then went nice again!" Chara turned away from Asriel in disgust. "I'm ashamed of you, Asriel."
"Chara, please understand, I-"
"That's enough, Asriel. Do you know what you're doing? Yes you do. You aren't insane. You are pretending." "You are using insanity as an excuse. You know what you are doing. You know you killed your own parents, and yet you still don't stop! You continue, you call monsters 'pitiful', you destroy everything everyone ever loved about this place."
Asriel had nothing to say in retort. It was true. Every word of it.
"I don't know what you're thinking, but I do know this; if everyone dies, there will be nothing else to do but die yourself. Do you want that?"
"Chara..." Asriel started, but then Chara disappeared. "..."
Asriel thought about a lot in the remaining time of his dream.
"It really is true... all I want is revenge..." "I'm being stupid..."
He sighed as he realized all of this.
"If I go on like this, I might actually be driven insane by my own actions..."
Asriel wished he could speak to Chara again, but they didn't come back. He felt like he had lost his best friend for the second time.
In reality, though, that was not Chara. It was his conscience speaking to him in the form of Chara, because Chara was a form he would understand, a form he would listen to.
Asriel unexpectedly woke up toppling out of his bed.
"Owww..." When he opened his eyes, he saw a froggit staring at him. "What the-"
A split second later, he found himself stabbing the froggit, killing it in an instant.
"What? No!!" Asriel yelled in confusion. "I wasn't trying to do that!!"
Asriel stared at the pile of dust for a long time. He felt... weird. Like he wasn't in control of his own body. So he didn't move. He didn't speak. He just sat there.
Finally, he got up. He found it hard to walk. He felt wobbly, and his vision was blurring.
"What... is going on..." Asriel murmured under his breath. "I... don't feel right..."
Suddenly, Asriel fell unconscious, and was propelled into another dream. This time he saw, not Chara, but himself. Covered in dust and blood.
"Hey, Asriel." He heard his other self say. "Took you long enough."
"What's going on?!" Asriel demanded. "Why can't I control myself?!"
"Shh... shh..." His mirror quieted him.
"Everything is the way it's supposed to be."
