The next day we started our new schedule. Lesson 1 is 'History of the school'. I hate these lessons, mainly because I know painfully much about them, seeing most of it is taught by our headteacher, who's talking about the MirrorVerse, their weird technology, and the problem with the Jewellie children. She portrays the image that we are cousins, not siblings, but I could still feel eyes boring into me as I looked at the floor, blushing a little and hiding myself with my hair, Susi glaring at the people and saying that if anyone DARES taunt me about who I am they will be SORRY. Even her hair seemed to suggest this, as her grey eyes seemed to shoot invisible lasers, and she jerked her head around, her short hair flying around crazily, making the illusion that it got struck by lightning every time Susi moved an eyelid. A pretty ferocious sight she was.
Every lesson seemed to tilt to this subject. In maths X and Y turned into J and MV in a heartbeat. In art people were drawing delicate pictures of how they imagined the MirrorVerse, or me, or Rubi, or Shine. I almost threw up seeing those pictures. Each one made me feel worse, each one sent a quiver down my spine, and made my stomach fill with butterflies desperately trying to get out and see light. In lunch someone spread a rumour that Larisa and her reflection were the same person, and someone else shouted,
"THERE IS NO BREAD IN THE MIRRORVERSE!" This news spread around the school like wildfire. Someone claimed to get a letter from Lana Stellie, but it was a forgery, and an obvious one at that. Susi went to the MirrorVerse again, and joined the excited chatter.
"I am the only normal person here" I muttered, but in fact it turned out I was the abnormal one, the one who wasn't talking, the one who hid.
For a second, I thought I saw a flash of red in one girl's hair, but it must have just been the true brown it was. I later identified this girl as Kayla.
Time ticked on, and days became less annoying, less history-of-the-school based, less around me, and kind of normal again. People got very warned over the next two years to STOP GOING NEAR THE MIRRORS and Jeuella got less and less bearable. Wherever I looked, I saw Shine. Susi must have thought I'd become a silent statue, and I guess I was. Silent, sneaking, secretive Shimmer was not let off lightly over those years she was teased, and no one let her forget her sister Shine. They met their reflections, and when one day a red-headed reflection with galaxy-blue eyes wearing a sleek black dress terrorised the school for a few days with her mind control and ringing, purring voice forever saying
"Quiana. . . where areeee youuuuu???" like a ghost haunting the corridors. No one knows what it was that got the voice and the clack-clack of her shoes to disappear. Mrs. Doelle got a scripted speech on the matter.
"You know what the MirrorVerse can do. You have seen with your own eyes the craziness of the MirrorVerse, in the form of a tall girl called Thyme the Mystique from the MirrorVerse. Some say she's the most wanted criminal known in there. Apparently it is the job of the Stellie, a group of sisters living in the forest, to keep those parts under control, and give the MirrorVerse kingdom two criminals- Thyme the Mystique and Opal, rebel leader. Thei rebel problem is sorted out, at least to you, but it could restart." She looked at me, almost creepily. "Do not go near the mirrors. Perhaps. . . not ever again. The person who opened the portals has left us." She was still staring at me as she said that, almost as if she wanted me to do something.
"And we think they were the only ones to close it, too. " She was definitely staring at me, as if those words were directed at me, as if they were an invitation for me to stand up and come to the front, gaining something that could either have been a certificate or a telling-off. But I'd have nothing.
"Now they have left, maybe it's changed."
Hiya ppl! Hope you enjoyed the next part of Looking Glass Academy! There are a few characters here.
Kayla, originally Kirsty, is another important character by @phiniz5. Remember her!
The rumour that there is not bread in the MirrorVerse was founded by a person called Cinnamon (who has been begging to be included) who was made by @ultrayorkie27.
Also, I'd love to know what you think of this, please comment and tell me!
