Aros the cube lived on a plain happily with his family and the tribe they belonged too.
He had some mind-reading powers, and telepaths were considered evil in his tribe at that time; so when the other cubes discovered he had the powers, they exiled him from the tribe.
Aros traveled around the plain, until one day his feet brought him to a weird place with green, glowing ground. He felt an urge to explore the area; and after passing several obstacles (game 1), he found something called the "spark of hope". By touching the spark, he became the chosen one, the one that will finally save the world from a dark secret.
He passed out after touching the spark of hope, and was teleported to a different place with the same green earth. When he woke up, it was night and it was raining. His perception ("sixth sense") sensed that something was ahead and he moved in it's direction. He fought dangerous creatures and obstacles, while also finding a "sigil" that unleashed his first power – the ability to shoot fireballs. After the tough journey, he reached the "something" – FateShade, who wanted to kill him and consume his essence. Aros confronted FateShade in a head-on battle and destroyed it with his fireballs (game 2 – Ignition)
At the end of the fight, when FateShade was about to be destroyed, it mumbled "free..." (some players may notice this after beating it in the game). Aros later found out that FateShade was actually the cursed part of the soul of the god of peace, so by destroying it, he freed it.
While destroying FateShade, Aros reached into it's mind and found weird, dark, and prophecy-like words:
Last to last.
Keep hope alive.
Aros knew the journey wasn't over yet.
Suddenly, he teleported back onto the plain without knowing how he did it. He was going to visit his tribe before uncovering the mysteries FateShade left for him to solve; But when he reached the place where the tribe settlement used to be (after fighting through a maze (Darkness, side story-game)), there was lava all over the place. No other cube except him was visible, and a colossal volcano towered in font of him. The lava's flow was quick and he started backing up. Then he started running. suddenly two-third of the prophecy seemed to make sense. The cubes are extinct. He was the last of them to last. But what did "keep hope alive" mean? Aros listened to his perception again, which turned out to be right again. He just knew where "hope" was, and went in it's direction. After battling another horde of enemies and obstacles (and finding another sigil that granted him the energy shield ability), Aros actually found "hope"! Hope was a higher-dimensional being in the shape of a droplet. After a short conversation, hope melded into Aros, enhancing him with it's power, and Aros kept hope, who was near death when Aros found him, alive with his essence (game 3 – Extinction). In the later games, Hope served as Aros' "survival guide".
Aros came back to the tribe, which was revived as Hope granted Aros one wish. They now knew that Aros was their savior, not an evil mind mage, and made him the king of the tribe. Everything is happy end right now, but Aros still sensed a big part was missing and that everything he did until now was just the preparation...
He was right again. There was peace and happiness for TEN years. Right as Aros was going to forget about his worries, Hope told him the time has come. The great revelation shall come. Aros went into to a cave (guided by Hope) and jumped into a dark blue portal.
A new world stretched out in front of his eyes: The sky was purple, the horizon black. And everything had binary numbers (1&0) on them.
Hope called it "The Realm of Code". Well, then he fought through a bunch of enemies as he always does (and finding another sigil unleashing his final devastating ability; play the games to know what it does), though these ones are made of binary code. At the end of this journey, he reached the entrance of a cavern. (game 4 – Revelation)
A "voice from the sky" called: "This is it. Please enter. You are the only one who can put an end to this... This madness." Then came Hope's warning: Prepare. It won't be an easy victory."
Aros started to realize what he was up against, but he also realized what immense powers he had, for he was the one chosen to stop it, for once and forever.
The end's hour has begun.
This is all for now!
Keep calm n' Ignite your Inner fire!
