Questions and answers:
-What is Hurricane Harvey?
Hurricane Harvey is a hurricane caused by extremely heavy rain and wind. It's happening in the Gulf Coast (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida) right now as I type this. The Gulf Coast is in a state of complete pandemonium; the death toll at 33+ with many other people missing and feared dead.
-I don't live there. What can I do to help?
If you have a relative that lives in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, or Florida, mail any non-perishable foods, clothing, blankets, and anything else that could be of use right now. If you don't know anyone living there, then donate the same things to the American Red Cross. If there is absolutely anything you could do to help, do it. It could save a life.
-What should I do if a hurricane is coming my way?
Monitor the storm via radio, television, and internet. Avoid using a phone unless it's absolutely necessary. Secure your home, close storm shutters, and secure outdoor objects or bring them indoors. Turn off all utilities if instructed by authorities to do so.
Turn off any propane tanks.
-What should I do if I'm caught in a hurricane?
Stay inside and away from windows, skylights and glass doors. Find a safe area in the home (an interior room, a closet or bathroom on the lower level). If flooding threatens your house, turn off electricity at the main breaker.
If you have any other questions, google them and ask for them to be added to the description. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
PS. We can't thank you enough, Red Cross, for all your help, saving so many lives of those in Hurricane Harvey and many more across the globe.
