•C O M A• Part 2
•Saturday, October 14, 1971•
Alice awoke from her slumber from the night before. It was late. She could tell. She sat up in bed. Then she looked around her room; but there wasn't anything she recognized in the room. It looked like a padded, white room. Then she realized something was restraining her from moving her arms to prop herself up.
There was a white strait jacket holding her arms to her chest in an uncomfortable position.
“U-ugh,” Alice muttered, attempting to wriggle out of the strait jacket.
It was no use. The buckles weren't planning to come undone anytime soon.
Alice rolled out of the bed, starting to recognize the faint scent of mildew. She looked around. There was one window at the top of the room with bars on it. Otherwise, the only other things were the ragged bed she'd awoken in and a glass door that she couldn't see through.
Alice eventually managed to stand up without the use of her arms available to her. She cautiously made her way toward the glass door and threw herself against it. The glass cracked a bit. For a minute, Alice pondered on whether she should continue and break the door or stay unharmed by the shards of glass that would cut her if she broke it.
She decided she'd do anything to get out of the room, and threw herself against the door once more. The glass eventually broke, and cut Alice on the arm, her shoulder, her cheek, and her knee. But the worst wound was on her stomach. It wasn't deep enough to bleed out or kill her, but Alice regretted her choices. She clutched her stomach for a minute, and then summoned the strength to walk through the door, avoiding the shards of glass at her feet.
Before she did anything else, she managed to cut the strait jacket off with a shard of glass and she saw she had a white tank top on under it.
Now that she could see out of the room, she examined it: there were white walls and clean, white tile floors. There were rooms like hers throughout a long hallway that smelled like rubber. Looking up, the ceiling had emergency fire sprinklers and what looked like cracked sound pads.
She walked slowly through the hallway, looking around at each room. She saw a person in every room, except for one at the end of the hallway. It had broken glass, just like her room did, so they must have escaped. But their room looked different. The blood on the glass where it had cut whoever was in the room was smeared, as if they dipped their finger in it to use it for something, and there was blood on the wall, of the same shade of red. It was a drawing. The drawing was of a cat.. but the cat was sticking its claws into a stick figure’s neck and blood was spraying out of the stick figure’s neck in the drawing.
It was a badly drawn picture, looking like it had been finger-painted by a 5-year-old. Alice heard a whispering and whipped around, but nobody was there. That sent off alarm bells in her head, telling her, “Get OUT of here! QUICKLY!”
Backing away from the room, turning to face the end of the hallway, Alice ran as fast as she could without bleeding too much from her knee. She found there was an elevator next to a staircase. She decided to take the stairs, as they would be faster. She ran down the stairs, stumbling a few times but staying on two feet nonetheless.
She came to near the bottom, and a few stairs were missing. Alice thought there were about 6 stairs broken off. She climbed down, dangling from the last stair for a moment, then dropping a few inches and landing on her feet. Without thinking, she dashed into a room that looked like a check-in of some sort, and there was no other door. Then a girl appeared out of nowhere. It looked like the girl who'd been in the mirror and the TV before. Now she could see her full body: she was short, she looked young. She was probably around 5 or 6 years old. Her hair reached lower than her back. The girl was wearing a black dress, and black flats.
The girl smiled at Alice in a creepy way. “I'm Coma. Remember that..” she whispered without moving her mouth before a sharp, cold stone came behind Alice, and stabbed through her chest, impaling her.
Alice screamed, and tears unvoluntarily streamed down her face as blood poured out of her chest. She sobbed, her chest feeling as if it were on fire.
The girl started to giggle, and then broke into a series of laughter as she pulled out a knife from behind her back and walked toward Alice.
“Aaaalicceeee… are you ready for this…?” she laughed.
“P-p-please d-don't hurt me-e an-nymore,” Alice choked out.
“Aaaaaalliiicceee… it's tiiiimmeee…” the girl proceeded to slice off each of Alice’s limbs. Then everything went black.
Alice woke up again and sighed, seeing the cycle was still going on.
“Another day like this again,” she murmured, and she started to cry softly.
