When I mean competitive rock-climber, I don't mean it literally. Well, I mean, rock-climbers can still be competitive, but I'm talking about the competitive rock-climber that is on a team and competes in competitions! I am one of them, a rising star female rock-climber who is (not to brag) actually very good at climbing! (always been a monkey) There are series of competitions. The first is regionals, which almost everybody can attend, but then comes Divisionals. To qualify for it, you need to be in the top ten of your age group. In this years round, I was 2 places away! TWO PLACES AWAY PEOPLE WHY IS LIFE SO CRUEL so anyway there's that. AFTER divisionals, there is Nationals, and if you make it that far, you get to be on TV! That is my goal. I have an idol that keeps me going. Her name is Ashima Shiraishi, and at the age of 9 years old, she was breaking world records for climbing. This year she is turning 16. I want to be just like her. If you can, check her out on YouTube. She is AMAZING. The catch is rock-climbers need to be STRONG. Really strong. Right now, my strength is ok, but I need to train every day. Oh, and last thing, I totally recommend rock-climbing as a sport. It works everything and makes you strong!!!
