So like, my friend who doesn't really play UT gave me this idea for a short comic and then this whole other story idea fell into place thanks to it
Still thinking about dis
"HauntedTale" sounds cool
Gotta develop a better story tho
my au's have been stale recently
Frisk does a genocide run in a timeline with no possible resets. They kill everyone only to find out there's no way of reversing it. So they're stuck in this timeline with the corrupted demon called Chara. (Chara doesn't destroy the world in dis one) They end up seeing what appears to be "ghosts" of all of the monsters they killed. (Still deciding if they should be real ghosts or just part of Frisk's unstable and insane mind idk,, I think the ghosts are probably a result of glitched coding due to there being no reset button in this Au)
Ded sans is salty.
So uh Frisk is just going insane and being haunted ;w;
(And also they're wearing Papyrus's scarf, Sans's hoodie, Asgore's crown)
All the "ghost" characters have the wounds that they died with visible. For example, Sans has a scar across his chest and Papyrus's head is decapitated. They all have golden flowers blooming from their wounds.
I was listening to Melanie Martinez's Mad Hatter so that kinda helped me with dis lol
This is so edgy fam
HauntedTale is set in a corrupted file of the game in which no resets are possible. This is also means determination in the game is lost - determination is what enables resets. In this timeline, Frisk just so happens to embark on a genocide route first. At the end of all genocide routes, Chara usually resets the world after killing Frisk. However, since resets aren't possible in this corrupted game file the reset doesn't work. (Chara also doesn't have enough determination so chooses not to kill frisk) Instead of resetting everything back to how it was at the start of the game, all the files become confused. The game tries it's best to reset but can't change the player's actions because of the corrupted and unfinished code. Therefore, perplexed, it tries to bring back the character files. This doesn't fully work either as it leads to all of the deceased characters returning but in a constant state of dying. They look like glitching red ghosts with flowers that begin to appear over the wounds (kinda like how Chara looks in this meme).
Frisk soon realises that they can't do anything in this timeline - they can't get to the surface, they can't reset. They're just stuck in a slowly decaying timeline, haunted by those they murdered and forever feeling the weight of their sins.
