Story: (Please read it all! Bare with me! I know it's long, but it will make everything make sense!)
Long ago, when the land was still wild, untamed, and deadly, lived a small kit named Shatter. When they were no more than two moons of age, their mother came down with a terrible illness that no cat has ever recovered from.
"Go, my kit, to the great mountain... Seek what you know you wish for..." And so, Shatter did, turning on their mother as she drew her final breath.
And Shatter ran. They charged through the underbrush, they leaped over the rivers, until they came to the great Sea Of Fire. It bubbled and singed, and Shatter's pelt burned. Suddenly, three cats emerged from the flames. They roared, the sound the crackle of flames. Shatter leaped away, tail brushing againt one's pelt. Shatter yowled in pain, in fear, and in anger, when a burst of flames appeared. It glowed a brilliant blue, before growing a pulsing red. It blasted into the side of one of the cats, and pushed him into the flames. They roared again, and shot a blast of flames at the second cat. Soon, the only one left was a young she-cat. She stared at them, and her eyes glowed.
"You are the one... The one who shall bring us together!" She moved forward, growing with each step, until she towered over Shatter. She touched him with a claw, and drew a pattern.
"I grant you the power of flames. Burn those that oppose you." She commanded, before disappearing. Shatter gasped, and padded over to the Sea of Flames. When they put a paw on, a crack of stones appeared. When they lifted their paw, it turned back to the glowing flames. They rushed forward, and the flames turned to stone under their paws. Shatter smirked, and ran.
And soon Shatter came to the end of the flames, reaching the island of the lakes. Suddenly, four cats emerged from the brush. They charged. When Shatter tried to shoot out a blast of flames, they leaped right over it. Shatter gasped, and slashed at the sky. Waves crashed where he slashed, and hit the incoming cats. They flew back, and landed with a thud. One cat was left standing. A tall young tom. He padded forward.
"You are the one... That shall bring chaos to the evils!" His claw grew longer with each step. Soon, he was standing over Shatter. Shatter resisted the urge to duck, and stared into the tom's eyes.
"I grant you the power of the waves... Use this to drown those who oppose you..." He drew a mark on Shatter's head. And he disappeared. Shatter blinked, and padded forward, into the forest.
And Shatter walked. For days, they wandered, until they came across a gusting tree. They blinked, and shook their head. Shatter jumped, and a blast of wind appeared, carrying them. Up, up, up they flew, until they reached the top, where a beautiful she-cat stood. She was a pale white, with ears that blew in the wind. Or, perhaps they were causing the wind. She stared at Shatter, and strode forward. She stared into their eyes, and reached up.
"You... You are the one who shall shake the earth! You found the way up... Only those who have mastered the elements can climb..." She touched their head, and drew a mark.
"I grant you the power of the wind... Blow those who oppose you into oblivion..." And she disappeared. Shatter stared at the black moutain, and the dead plains.
And they flew, until the wind stopped, and they were forced to land. Shatter had reached the dead plains. They padded across, when a dead cat arose. He had a torn pelt, and hollow eyes. Shatter yowled in fear, and closed their eyes. When they opened them, Shatter's mouth gaped. A rock was floating, and the world had a black-ish hue. The undead cat staggered forward. He stunk of death. He stared at Shatter, and touched their head. This time, the cat dug his claw into Shatter's head. They winced.
"You... You are the one who shall bring death to this land..." He rasped.
"I grant you control of the Shadows... Kill those who disobey you..." And he dropped into the ground. Shatter's heart pounded, but they ran.
And the rushed to the mountain, where the four cats they found stood there. Shatter blinked, and stared at them. They all stared at Shatter, and he knew what he had to do.
And so, that's the story! NOTE: This roleplay takes place about 100 years after this. There has been 3 leaders per tribe.
