First round of IV is out! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/153194562/
Welcome! You can call me Ivy! I am one of the judges for Imperfect Voices, alongside Candy and Candy! (Two different Scratchers). I'm so excited to get stuck in, though it's going to be some hard work and effort! I'll need ten members, and I'm looking forward to meeting each and every one of them! In the meanwhile, I'd love to get to know you, so feel free to comment your favourite singers, songs, colours, animals, or anything in the comments! I hope we can be friends! ^.^
PLEASE READ BELOW
I'd like you to practise as much singing as possible. Remember to stretch your facial muscles for the best effect, even though it may seem a bit weird at first.
Work on your breathing, too. Concentrate on singing from the belly - I know, weird, right? - but trust me, the sound is much sweeter.
Remember to take breaths between lines rather than words, so that your singing doesn't sound gaspy. Try hard to make sure that the breaths are both deep and silent. There are sme breathing exercises.
1) Repeatedly shout "SH!" as loudly and as powerfully as you can, for two minutes. Try to keep them as even and as steady as possible. Though you do end up sounding like a demented librarian, it's good for your breathing and voice. If it gives you a slight headache or makes you a bit dizzy, don't worry! Simply pause, take a breather, and start again.
2) Release a slow, quiet and steady "sshhhhhhhh" for as long as you can. Try to exhale as little air as possible; this will help you do it for longer. You could try timing yourself and trying to beat that time the next time you did it.
Please try to work on these exercises as much as possible! You could practise them as frequently as possible, including: I the car, walking to school... Just maybe not AT school. xD
I'd like you to Google some YouTube videos on how to improve your voice and singing.
> watch this space for links <
If there's a book at the library on how to improve your singing technique or how to work with our voice, the please, issue it. If any opportunities for singing come up, then leap at every single one of them!
Another good idea is: If you have a family member who is a good singer, or who does it as a profession, maybe you cold as, them for a quick lesson or a few tips!
Remember that by agreeing to be on my team for the contest Imperfect Voices, you have agreed to
a) Constantly sing and work with your voice
b) Work on your singing style
c) Research techniques and your favourite singers
d) Be kind, considerate and courteous of other teams and each other and to be nice if you win or lose
e) Love singing, and do it as much as possible!
I'm sorry you had to endure those long paragraphs, but is for the best. xDD Keep watch for news or updates! Bye! <3
