This is a chess RP. You don't have to join it. I simply made it because I'm done with school early (except Math) and bored out of my mind.
I'm guessing you know what chess is. If you don't, shame on you. Go look it up. The two sides are the Black and White, called Kaalee and Saphed. They are constantly fighting, but there is more to life than that. There is also love, family, and life.
Kaalee, Blacks, are more likely to cheat and are frowned upon by the respectable Saphed. Thieves have lighter punishments and are more tolerated and common there. They wear dark clothing.
Saphed, Whites, is a rich country, but they DO NOT tolerate thievery, begging, or murder. They always get to the battlefields early, and therefore begin battle.
1. Must be a manager to be king or queen (just ask)
2. If you're a king, no being epicly awesome in battle. You MUST move slowly and be very lame.
3. No cussing or put-downs (your CHARACTER can put other down, though)
4. No spies
5. You CANNOT switch sides
6. Only one character
7. For knights, you play the horse AND the human
8. STAY ACTIVE
Must be a manager to be this. The kings may be sweet, and they may not, but they are HORRID at fighting. They must be protected by everyone, and are TERRIBLY important. (And annoyingly slow! It's like two old turtles crawling around the board!)
They are GREAT at fighting. They are must protect their husbands, and are the people who REALLY rule the kingdom. They are fast and strike hard. They can be sacrificed to save the king.
These little guys are often sacrificed and ignored. When fighting another pawn, it will often last hours. However, if they get into enemy territory, they will be promoted. This means they can become a knight, rook, bishop, or noble (works exactly like a queen, but I thought more than one queen would be confusing). After the battle, however, they are almost always degraded back to a pawn for some reason or another. In the beginning of battle, they are often very energetic.
These people each own a horse, which they have a strong bond with. If they lose their horse, they are often either demoted to a pawn or simply become a normal citizen. It's rare for them to get a new horse. The horses are hard to control, and they often move in a rather eccentric way. They can leap over other people in the battle.
These people go on foot. They are very fast. They aren't very important, and there isn't much to say about them.
These people are the builders and guards of the castle when not at war. They are oftentimes very strong, but easily blocked. They are usually used the corner the opponent's king and need to work together a lot.
These are common people, who don't go into battle. They can work to supply the army, or have a relationship with one of the soldiers (not necessarily romantic)
I don't think this needs much description. If they are caught stealing from commoners, these are the penalties: Kaalee - A small fine or a few days in jail. Saphed - A large fine or a week or two in jail. These are the penalties for being caught stealing from the army: Kaalee - A large fine and week in jail. Saphed - Being beaten and a month in jail. And for being caught stealing from the king and queen: Kaalee - A few months in jail, with little food or water. Saphed - Death.
These are former soldiers, captured by the enemy. They are often mistreated and beaten, and they don't get fed very often. They are guarded and never let out. Since the cells are full, strangers will be put in the same cells. Nobody cares if they kill each other.
These people guard the prisoners or the castle. They can also include archers and the moat-letter-downer (or whatever it's called). They are supplied with weapons and are paid to guard the cells or castle.
