You step into a dimly-lit cavern, illuminated by a single flickering candlelight, just barely outlining the shape of a feathered creature, its snout pointed down to its desk where it scratched out words onto a paper with a black quill. Suddenly it notices you, raising its head slowly to face you. Eyes of the most brilliant gold stare right at you, and a quiet hiss issues from the creature's mouth.
"Who are you, and why are you here?"
You respond with your name, and that you had gotten lost traveling back to Laramidia, and suddenly this creature grows friendlier.
"Well, welcome to Alerra, the land of the maniraptorans."
The raptor continues to speak to you.
"Well, since you're here, I may as well inform you about our world. Starting with geography, of course, which is crucial if you want to find your way around."
Saverra- The capital of Alerra, located in the center of the continent and housing much of the population. Shops line the streets, and here you will find most institutes of learning, such as countless museums and the prestigious Saverra University.
Boulderfall- A town at the base of the Skytouch Peaks, which makes a living by mining precious metals and gems.
Mellmoore- A town in between two tributaries of the River Naiad, and exports fresh farm produce to make money.
Ceruview- A stunningly beautiful beachside town overlooking the Maris Ocean, and renowned for their export of a wide variety of fish, some of which can be found nowhere else.
Lupanwalk- A small village near the Lycan Forest and known for many famous supernatural happenings.
Alvergon- The second-largest city in Alerra and is similar in appearance to Saverra, though the streets are a bit narrower. Weekly there is a farmers' market that takes place in the town square.
Lands Between- Anyone can live here, in the forests or meadows separating all the cities and towns. The shadier parts of these mostly uninhabited regions are favored by thieves and rogues.
"Hope Lupanwalk didn't scare you too much," the raptor joked. "Anyways, you must be wondering about what the h*ll our currency is."
The currency of Alerra is in coins, each minted in a certain precious metal. Each coin is referred to as a "claw", and one Golden Claw has about the value of 5 US Dollars.
Golden Claw- Its name may imply that it's minted from gold, but solid gold is actually too expensive. It is minted in titanium nitride instead.
Silver Claw- This is minted out of what looks like silver, but since silver tarnishes quickly, it is minted out of chromium. Seven Silvers are worth a Gold.
Bronze Claw- Minted out of nickel plated with a layer of bronze. Ten Bronze are worth a Silver.
"This land's got religions, too, you know. They're mostly a load of tosh, but hey, we can't judge."
Ambo- The maniraptors part of this religion believe two gods, one of light and dark, formed the world. The god of light is supposed to be a female Velociraptor named Eosa and the god of dark a male Alvarezsaurus named Umbrus. Eosa created life and raptors and Umbrus the world around them.
Compluria- Maniraptors here believe in several gods who rule over all aspects of life. For instance there may be gods for life, death, nature, the ocean, rivers, fire, etc.
Afidus- These maniraptors believe in science and only science, basing their beliefs on hard fact and won't believe anything without sufficent evidence. They believe they came to be through evolution and survived thanks to natural selection.
Solus- According to these maniraptors, there is one raptor god of undefined species who created everything.
"We've got a government," the raptor said simply. "Not a strong one, though, so do what you want."
The government system gives most of the power to independent towns and cities.
The federal government can still override the local government, though they rarely do. Or want to, for that matter.
Luckily there's an established currency for the entire continent and similar export/import laws among every town and city.

Job (shopkeeper, teacher, etc.):
- No powerplaying.
- No Mary Sues or Gary Stus.
- Don't kill a character without the owner's permission.
- Speak in parentheses ( ) when not roleplaying.
- I don't recommend you create more than five characters, but if you can handle that many, knock yourself out.
- Create a non-theropod and I will have your head. Just kidding. I'll allow dinosaurs similar in appearance to maniraptors, like Microraptor.
- Add feathers to your raptor or I'll kick you put of the RP.
- All species must be real. I will know because I've studied dinosaurs for a while.
