ChildTimes - Hi everyone!! Sorry for the inactivity ^^ We need pictures, Agnes' template, and other members to start working away! The writers have already finished their job so it's up to you! Here's what is based on...
@oceancrest's writing piece:
On April 11, 2012, George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Apparently Zimmerman had shot Martin to death. However, the jury rendered a not guilty verdict on all counts.
As a matter of fact, Trayvon Martin was just an innocent black man.
Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a political movement protesting against incidents of brutality and all racially motivated violence against people with black skin.
As one of our fellow authors, @ducksprout has already explained the BLM movement to us, I will simply elaborate on BLM history instead.
You find it familiar when I mention the name “Martin Luther King Junior”. He was an African-American pushing the BLM rights movement. His famous speech “I have a dream” shall linger in our souls… forever…
MLK (Martin Luther King) participated in and led marches for blacks' right to vote, desegregation, labor rights, and other basic civil rights. He is a very brave man indeed, with needs to be honoured.
Below is a small part taken from his famous speech, as I mentioned before- “I have a dream”.
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today!”
MLK’s bravery, perseverance and every single word should be honored.
Unfortunately, he was fatally shot at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968, at 6:01 p.m. CST.
Martin, you shall always be in our hearts, your everlasting brave soul will live on forever.
Raise your heads, high and high, see what is truly happening in the world. #BLM
This is the future.
“I have a dream.”
Taylor - What about the editors? I don't see any mistakes so I'm a bit confused.
Minty - Taylor: You can revise them. Elongate the sentences, add interesting words and take away unnecessary words to make them all even better!
Taylor - Thank you Minty! I have also edited oceancrest's piece, here it is: https://blankslate.io?note= I also have a question, does each editor edit one piece?
ChildTimes - Yes :)
