BLM2020 is the year when everything changes. The murder of George Floyd in America was the final injustice against people of African descent that the public could take. Centuries after the invention of racism it has become entrenched into every layer of Western society. The Black Lives Matter movement rallied protests around the world, including in the UK.
What will the future generations remember of this time? We are building a new archive of this moment.
Covid19 restrictions mean that it will be difficult to collect physical material. We’re asking you to donate your digital photographs, videos, artworks, petitions, articles, poems, and more to create the Black Lives Matter archive at BCA.
Please do not send material that identifies individual protesters or organisers.*
Once we receive this form we will get in touch to arrange the donation. We might not be able to reply to you quickly if we receive a large number of donations.
BCA is a charity. We are looking for funding to preserve and make accessible this new archive.
*There are resources online to help you anonymise individuals before submission, and to help you preserve your anonymity if you are attending protests. The ones linked to here are suggestions and are not tested by us.
