Now for the bios:
@davidkt/ @__init__: I first learned about DDG from the Raspberry Pi. My friend got a RPi and when I went over to try to fix it, I saw the default search engine on Midori was called DuckDuckGo. I thought, "Ooh, look! A new search engine!" Then I tried it out and loved it.
@cheeseeater: I also found out about DDG on my Pi! DDG also seems to be more accurate than Google, and has literally no ads! Apart from a small related one that I don't mind.
@detogdefa I found out about duck duck go from this studio. I tried it for a month and never use Google anymore.
@GameShnaz Ok, I remember how I discovered DDG now! There was an ad saying that Google has a privacy limit. I read on after clicking the link and, poof ,that was the last of Google. I use it to look up images but that's it.
@mcjohnso : Someone on #minetest(the irc channel) were discussing other search engines. (almost everyone there thinks Google is evil. At least the core developers do) And DuckDuckGo came up. I looked at it first, but didn't think much of it. I came back to it later though, and found it to be quite good, with all the ! commands. Thank you, whoever mentioned it on #minetest.
@jessepinky I found out about DDG when I clicked manage search engines- get more search engines. I found the DDG Add-on and decided to find out what it was about. Once I found out about all the stuff it does, I completely switch from Google to DDG, I made DDG my homepage, deleted Google from my quick search bar, and replaced it with DDG. The only time I ever go on Google now is because I need images and even when I do that I use the !gi/!i bang off of DDG. I think bangs are the best thing ever to happen with search engines!
