Whenever I manage to define my life philosophies in a satisfying way (like this), I'll share them with you guys as Messages of Hope. Because I'll be honest, they are nothing if not hope :)
This is a message for everyone; but especially those who are having a rough time at the moment. Please, don't lose hope! <3
Poetry is good inspiration for things like this. Here, I'll share the verse I wrote over a year ago, that inspired this Message of Hope.
There's rain before the rainbow
And fierce storms before the eye
A little dark before the dawn
And earth before the sky
But see the color in the clouds
The glitter in the night
Hear music in the thunder
Where there's darkness, shine your light <3
The darkness is only a passing shadow; it will soon give way to a light more brilliant than anything you knew before. Don't lose hope, friends! Keep your feet on the ground and your eyes to the sky until the storm passes. Meanwhile, what do you do? The answer lies, surprisingly, in rain.
For many people, rain is a symbol of sadness. It's darker, and it makes it difficult to do things outside without getting wet, yes. But isn't rain BEAUTIFUL? The sound is so relaxing, and it's so satisfying to watch the drops fall and the new "canals" run down the street...and anyway, I'm a person who loves to get wet! Even storms...is it not SO satisfying to catch a glimpse of lightning? Ah, but don't you love rain?
Anyway, the idea is, greet "bad" things just the same as you would good things—for it's usually some of each, open to interpretation. See the color in the clouds! There's no color in clouds, you say? Try it!
Meanwhile, there's one more thing, a simple solution. "In the darkness, shine your light." You have light within you...even if it takes some finding, it's there. Shine in the darkness. It'll help you and everyone else be a little less blind, and maybe to find more light. How can one person do that, you ask? Try it!
So here's what I have to say to anyone who's having a rough time right now:
It's just rain before the rainbow
Just a storm before the eye
It's always dark before the dawn
That soon will light the sky
I swear there's color in the clouds There's glitter in the night
And through each passing shadow
Always try to be a light <3
