Scratch Team, we love what you do. Scratch is a great website where people can share their creativity with the world. We do, however, think you could make Scratch better if you took notice of unfair/ inconsistent bans and tried to do something about them.
We understand it could be a problem with the bots you use, such as the bad word detector. Us community members do not know the extent to which you can fix the bots, but if you can, please try. It is the belief of the members of the "Scratch Team...Why?" studio that an effort needs to be made towards change. It is true that some of the community deserves the bans they receive, but others are banned unfairly. For example, multiple Scratchers have mentioned freely in this studio that they were blocked or alerted for telling someone to give credit for art they stole, or for letting people know it is rude to advertise. If there is a way to fix the bots, please try.
Here are some of the reasons that the ST should change the system they use to detect rudeness, or to issue bans and alerts:
ALERTS are given to many users for odd reasons, which can be found in the comment section of this studio. Too many alerts lead to bans, meaning unfair alerts can result in unfair bans.
BANS are given when a user has received too many alerts in a short period of time, or for outrageously rude behavior. Some bans are given for small or odd reasons. Some users are also banned for small incidents of rude behavior they did in the past.
Here are some messages from the creators of this studio:
I don't spin events in my studio, and I definitely don't make up new ones. All the stories in this studio were things other Scratchers have had happen to them and told me and @rosebud87 about, or things that happened to us. This is my studio, and I protest the right way.
The creators of this studio, you'll notice, are not the only ones who want change. You might see the amount of comments, projects, and followers this studio has, all of which are devoted to change. Below are some quotes from Scratchers who have freely chosen to share their opinion in this studio.
ST, before you alert anybody, please read them all.
Messages from the community:
"It's really unfair to all of us who go on Scratch. They say that they welcome all religions, and everything else, but they won't let us share our opinions. It's what the ST thinks is right, and we have no say. But I think that every opinion matters and should be heard! Don't silence people because of what they think."
THEY SAY DONT GOSSIP, WE ARE NOT! WE ARE TELLING DA TRUTH!
Yeah, help show support!!!
Scratch claims to welcome everyone of all religions, gender identities, sexualities, blah blah blah. Clearly though, that isn't true. I was simply just expressing myself and the ST RUINED ALL OF IT!!! This issue HAS to stop!!! Do they have context?! DO THEY EVEN LOOK????
Not only is the ST rude at times, but the filterbots are just broken! You can get muted for too many unknown characters in a comment, and it's just STUPID!
Here we have a petition, made entirely of users who agreed to sign to show their support and spread awareness of the growing problem of unfair alerts.

Do you agree? Do you think that the Scratch Team is being unfair to the community? Share your stories! Spread the word! This can't go on any longer! Scratch is supposed to be a place where everyone can freely create and share, but can we do that if we don't all merit being reported fairly? No! Scratch Team, why!?
