This studio is dedicated to projects that move viewers, a small step at a time, towards learning the mathematics fundamental to understanding attractors, deterministic chaos, and perhaps, even the more complicated topic of 'strange attractors'.
The first two projects in this studio will compare and contrast the difference between graphing f(x) and iterating f(x). Iteration is the mathematical technique fundamental to chaos theory and fractal geometry.
The next several projects will explore the concept of 'attractor' using simple linear functions.
The projects are ordered, with the Graph of y = Rx(1 – x) as the first project. View the projects in order.
