I'm pretty sure most of you have heard at least SOMETHING about Guinea or Cookie nut (My guinea pigs.)
But just for anyone who hasn't heard this story:
I think it was a few days after my beta fish (first pet) died. My mom wanted to get guinea pigs. I at the time didn't even know what a guinea pig was. The exact date we got them was April 4th 2012.
We picked up the two boys first, Cookie Nut and Mr. Mouse. Then, we went to this creepy house to get Guinea. My mom said that she almost left without the guinea pig. She knocked on the door and finally
two creepy guys came to the door. Backstory is that guinea belonged to one of their girlfriends, until the girlfriend had to go off to school... so she gave Guinea to her boyfriend. Guinea's real name was "Punch Face Champion Guinea."
And did she have a temper!!!
So I worked on "taming" my personality pig. Then on November 15 2013 (I think...) Mr. Mouse died.
Leaving cookie nut all alone. That is when i stood up for the little man and brought him into my room. What do you think you get when boy meets girl? LOVE. Guinea pig love! So cookie nut gained some much needed weight and got to visit his girl a lot. And i fed them, cleaned them, brought them to the "Everlasting salad" (aka the lawn) and gave them baths when they needed it.
Then, on September 14th I cleaned Cookie Nut and fed him a whole lot of treats. The next day, when i checked on him his eyes were dull and his hair puffed out. When we examined him more closely he was showing signs of bloat. So we gave him vegtable oil. He wouldn't perk up. So, i brought Guinea downstairs. Cookie nut didn't react, even when Guinea happily groomed him. I soon brought Guinea back so Cookie Nut could rest. He still seemed no better. Until all of a sudden he coughed, rolled onto his back, shook while kicking his legs around, and then started grinding his teeth in pain. After about five minutes of chewing, he started to perk up. Then he had another "seizure" and chewed... he went through many repeats getting weaker and weaker. Me and my mom decided that it would be best for him to die soon... so we put him in his favorite hidy house and played some relaxing music. He died peacefully and we buried him next to Mr. Mouse.
I washed Cookie nut's cage and put it back together... But the cage seemed to have died with the little man. Went to sleep one night and CRASH. His cage broke! :O
My mom posted a "2 female guinea pigs wanted" and it got a quick reply. A family of 6 bought a mother and 2 baby guinea pigs for their daughter, but since the daughter had her driving permit she had no time for the guinea pigs. So we got Mamma (The mother, black and white coloring) Reeses (9 month old baby who is brown tan and brown... like a Reeses.) And Sparkles (black and brown baby)
I noticed that Guinea was getting a little bony. So I started feeding her extra. Then a couple of days ago I noticed that she had stopped eating. But before I had a chance to do anything about it... it was too late. She was much too weak. So on September 27th 2015, I said goodbye to my sweet Guinea. I always thought of her as my baby, but the look she was giving me that night... said that my old piggy was teaching me about death. I think she held on for so long because she didn't want me to be sad. She died around 10:30pm-11:00pm.
And I just lost my pet, my BFF, and a big piece of my heart.
