This is a thing that really, I mean really, makes me want to burst into tears.
What we have done to the earth is like going up to your gran, saying hi, shoving plastic down her throat and watching her choke, saying, ah well, someone else will help her.
Sorry for the crude comparison. Actually, no I'm not sorry. It's true.
Global warming and extinction rates are closely connected with the amount of plastic.
Every 5 seconds plastic piles the size of your car go into the oceans.
In 2020 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea.
Every time you make an unnecessary journey in your car, you're shortening the atmosphere's life.
Think politicians need to stop worry about their borders and care for the environment, no matter who they think they are because there won't be any borders left to worry aimlessly about, oh yeah there will, it'll be the great wall of plastic, or the memorial tower of Siberian tigers, or maybe the temple of dead turtles.
Just think, for flip sake think!!
Here's how you can help:
*When you go to the shops, buy loose fruit instead of packaged ones.
*Order bottled milk instead of plastic from the shops.
*Refuse a bag, do two trips or three if you must.
*Don't make extra little trips in the car like bus stops (Guilty oof)
*If your parents or you are buying a car, encourage to go for electric to reduce CO2
*Don't buy bottled water, we have taps, china and metal for a reason.
*Try as hard as possible to buy less things containing palm oil.
*Donate money to beach and ocean cleaning societies.
*Go and help with it yourself.
*Adopt animals and donate to endangered species, and don't just donate to help the cute little pandas. What about the blobfish???
*Donate to stop the cutting of the rainforests, if that's a thing which I'm sure it is.
*Wash your plastic fibre clothes less.
*Buy cotton over polyester clothing.
*Complain loudly in shops about their plastic packaging and yell that you cannot possible buy such an environmentally unfriendly product, and right in front of the manager and as many people as possible, storm away. To some effect.
Just to be clear: Ahem:
Plastic: People are producing too much plastic, companies are using it too much of it and the people creating it don't want to stop because they are making money. It's killing the world because of it's un-biodegradability.
Global warming: Whether you agree, or disagree, it's getting warmer. Our cars and factories and the burning of fossil fuels are what's beginning to break the atmosphere. It's going to get warmer naturally, because of our sun, but this fast is melting the ice caps, rising sea levels, and because of this.... Animals who should never meet are meeting due to their migration and the heat changing. We are getting Ligers, Prizzly bears and some strange things going on with the sea life(google if you think I'm lying). Sea levels rising bad in general.
Animal extinction: This is closely linked to the above. If endangered species like polar bears (ice caps) are mating with grizzly bears from the south, there's going to be less polar bears and speed up their extinction. But a big factor is habitat loss, the amount of life in the rainforests. you've all seen new houses appearing? Well that's either great or horrific to the wildlife depending on the attributes it's going to have. But human hunting, such as the Siberian tigers. There's just so much I would be here for ever...
The earth is a unique eco-system.
