Chapter 17.6-- What is Lutox? Coral thought as she walked towards her room. She had seen the word on White’s notes... she wondered what it meant. When she reached the Decontamination doors, she looked around, making sure no one was watching before she yawned, letting her mouth stretch all the way open. Of course, she had to inherit the most prominent feature of her father’s species... it was nice to open it every once in a while, although it usually heightened her instincts to kill. She shuddered as it washed over her. She so badly wanted to sink her teeth into living flesh... Coral closed her mouth and walked through Decontamination. Once the mist cleared the room, the other door opened, and Coral walked out into Laboratory. She jumped when Green threw himself at the side of his unit, snarling. Coral cautiously gave the containment unit a wide berth, keeping an eye on Green. He kept following her with his black eye... as well as banging against the wall of the unit every once in a while. Coral made her way out of the Laboratory, relaxing as soon as she left the room. From the room behind her, Coral heard Green let out a long, sorrowful howl. She felt a twinge of pity for him... if what Captain Yellow said was true, then he wouldn’t be around much longer. Taking a deep breath, she walked back into Laboratory. Green eyed her curiously as she walked up to the containment unit. Black liquid dripped from his jaws, puddles of it already collected at the bottom of the containment unit. Coral shivered a little. “U-uh... hi... Green,” she stammered. Green tilted his head at her, seeming more docile. Maybe he liked her company? She knew everyone had been avoiding him since the incident the previous day... Coral sat down next to the containment unit. Green trotted over to that side and sat down as well, looking Coral over. It was honestly... creepy. Coral gulped. “...so... um... I guess it doesn’t feel very good, being trapped in there...” Coral said. Green nodded, looking sad. He bumped his head on the side of the unit. “...I wish I could help... but...” Coral sighed. She put her hand on the side of the containment unit. “...are you hungry?” she asked. Green nodded vigorously. “...what do you want?” Green growled, licking the side of the containment unit. Coral shifted back. Green stared at her with a fierce, animal-like hunger, baring his teeth. He snapped, and Coral bolted away. He had obviously gone back to being aggressive. There was no use in her staying around. She ran all the way back to her room and collapsed on the bed. She wanted to help Green, she really did... but he was just too dangerous. It seemed though that he had a period where he was less aggressive, and Coral was just there at the right time. She would talk to Red in the morning- Wait. The meeting was in the morning. Coral shuddered, pulling the blanket over her. She didn’t know anyone else she could tell... she’d just have to try to get to him, before he was ejected. End of Chapter 17.6--
