This program demonstrates event driven programming ...
Event-driven means that the flow of the program is dictated by events. In this type of programming there is usually a main script that listens for events (e.g. mouse clicks, keys pressed and or messages sent between different parts of the program) and then it triggers different functions when one of those events is detected.
