In this project you can learn about the patterns you can make using a technique called tessellation.
Using Scratch, you can make cool patterns with easy to draw tiles, like a triangle and squares with simple patterns drawn on them.
You can draw these on graph paper too if you like. Or make stamps using a potato.
Made for the Scratch Design Studio called Scratch 101.
I've learned more about tesselation through these books (in Dutch):
Tekenen met tegels, Wisschrift 7, written by Jantine Bloemhof.
Kleur(wis)kunde / This is Not a Maths Book, written by Anna Weltman.
Opdrachten voor de Grote Rekendag 2007 (www.rekenweb.nl).
