Chaos Game - Midpoint Formula
Click on the green flag and watch.
The Chaos Game was invented by Dr. Michael Barnsley. Dr. Barnsley is the creator of Iterated Function Systems (IFS). IFS is based on his famous Collage Theorem that is a mathematical technique for mapping an image of say, in this case, a triangle, onto smaller and smaller scales. This technique is explained in Dr. Barnsley's book 'Fractals Everywhere'. All of the 'Fern' fractal projects on Scratch are applications of his Collage Theorem.
This project computes the Sierpinski triangle using the Mid-point formula from analytic geometry. This produces the same coefficients used by the Collage Theorem
See my project at this link:
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/3116188/ as it uses the coefficients computed from the Collage Theorem.
