Aging in Humans causes the thymus to shrink. T Cells are produced at lower levels as humans age. HIV infections also cause T Cells to fail and the thymus to shrink. The disease AIDS is this progressive T cell failure of the human immune system. Growth hormone resurrects the adult human thymus during HIV infection. Immune systems are reactivated in adults with HIV. Could this techology be used to extend human immune systems as we age? Play the "T Cell Thymus Game" pump up your thymus and last a little longer.
