Special Pi Day this year! -Countdown to Super Pi Second...
First time I've posted in this forum (I think?), but I suspect there may be some here who find this interesting, so here goes…
Many of you will know about Pi Day coming soon on March 14th. Perhaps your school does a little something for it each year?
This year is a bit special though… find out about Super Pi Second in the project below!
See if you can mark this “Super Pi Day” in some extra special way at your school.
(-even though it's a Saturday, which is a bit of a pity, and should've pointed out when I first posted this!)

Super Pi Calc, with countdown to Super Pi Second
Enjoy!

As noted in the Pi Calc project above, every Pi Day contains Pi Seconds… 3/14 1:59:26 (both a.m. and p.m.) Also, this year is 3.14.15 so it is extended Pi year!
But, yes, this year we have "Super Pi Second": 3/14/15 at 9:26:53 (both a.m. and p.m.)

(Those of us in UK have to quietly mutter to ourselves about Americans writing dates the wrong way round, but I guess we wouldn't have Pi Day if we wrote it the somewhat more sensible UK way as 14/3/15…)
EDIT: Oh, oops! Just noticed you got the 3's and 2's mixed up at the end…
3 2 3 <–correctedI know a lot of Pi. Without looking at anything (honestly) 3.14159265358979
Y'know, when I was still at school (many years ago now…) I remember watching a BBC TV program that claimed to show about 50 digits of Pi. I was into that sort of thing, so I learnt them from that TV program.
It was only about a year later that I discovered they were totally wrong after about the 15th digit!!

The strange thing is, once I learnt lots more places of pi, I found that all of those incorrect digits were in fact made of short strings of ~4 to 6 digits from about the first couple of hundred digits of pi. I wish I could remember what the program was (I have a vague recollection that it may have actually been about cosmology, and was saying that 50 places is enough to measure the circumference of the observable universe to the nearest atom, or something…)

Oh. I guess i did get them mixed up. I learned those 3 yesterday so I can't quite remember the too well. I am trying to study more pi soon. Cool facts you posted. Only 50? Wow. I know a site that has 100,000 digits of pi i study. I obviously won't ever get that many right. I am only 12 and I remember that much of pi which I impressed my math enrichment teacher with. So I can now get about 18 digits with the “323”.As noted in the Pi Calc project above, every Pi Day contains Pi Seconds… 3/14 1:59:26 (both a.m. and p.m.) Also, this year is 3.14.15 so it is extended Pi year!

Special Pi Day this year! -Countdown to Super Pi Second...
Just giving this a bit of a bump so people see it as the day draws near.
In fact, I'm bumping it with 3d 14h 15m 9s left…
(UK time)
(EDIT: oops, the time on the post says it was a second late! -Guess it took that long for the server to process the request.)
Will probably give it another bump in a couple of days.
FYI, I did find this other countdown project, which has been counting down for a lot longer than mine!
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/17082693/
(Also has a few remixes…)
And here's another countdown project: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/51180724/

Well done! I used to know about 500 places when I was a teen - I learnt them while I was meant to be revising for A levels… LOL… wow. I know about 230 digits form memory.
I haven't kept it up, so I can only remember 100 now, though - let that be a warning that these things do fade with time! ;D
