Welcome to Cat Island - an island life game drawn entirely with pen and stamp
I made an island life game based on the rules of Animal Crossing.
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1388639810/
Everything you see is drawn with pen and stamp. The world uses no sprite costumes.
Press V, or the button in the top right, to switch between 3D and 2D. The 3D view paints the island tiles from back to front, then stamps the trees and characters on top.
- Shake trees for branches, then craft a fishing rod or a net at the workbench
- Sell fish and bugs at the shop for bells
- Pay off your loan and your house gets bigger (building finishes the next day)
- Dig up fossils with the shovel and have them appraised at the museum
- The turnip seller comes on Sunday mornings, and turnips rot after a week
Game time follows the real clock, and the weather and season change which creatures appear.
Saving uses a code: talk to your house, copy the code, and paste it into Continue next time.
It also uses cloud variables. You can upload your island from the phone menu, and other people can walk around it with the view islands option. There are 8 slots, so the oldest island gets overwritten once they fill up.
The game is playable in Japanese, English, 中文 and 한국어.
If you find something broken, tell me in the project comments.
