-campers come on board, we all get to know each other! (intros, let them settle in. edit: goal setting?)
-we share what the mission is about (prompt activity), at this point we're reaching the Tau Ceti system

-Rocky makes contact, i.e. the canister (it'll make sense when you get to the part Silvi!) is thrown and the xenonite and all that
-Figure out how to communicate with Rocky (code breaking activity/collab story, thoughts? I personally think a collab story would fit well here)
-Rocky moves in <33

-now we're approaching Adrian, the campers know what we need to do
-trying to figure out how to get a sample/getting the sample (maybe activity related-challenges? I'm thinking it could help with mid-session motivation slumps.. Speaking of motivation do we want goal setting in the beginning? I think that would be beneficial!)

✦ 4th week
-we got the sample! now we have to examine it and breed the oxygen-resistant strain (code-breaking activity)
-sending the samples back home (collab story if our campers are active enough! if not I think we can do without <3)

How are you? - Doing good! I'm enjoying being back at school and super excited for all the cabin planning to come!
Intro - Hello there! I'm Silvi (as I'm sure you know) and I love reading, crochet, music, baking and writing (and lots of other stuff!) This coming session will be my 10th session, and this will be my 5th time co-leading - which is unbelievable!

Team Info

Regular online time: On weekdays, I should be on from about 5:30-8:30(UTC). Hopefully I won't have too much homework, and this also includes eating dinner, getting ready for bed and reading my bible! In previous sessions, I have also managed to catch up a tiny bit before school, just to reply to a few things! On weekends, I'm the same as you, I'll pop on and off, but I'm hoping we can get quite a bit done on the weekends!

I always think it's really fun to have individual WCGs, as we can give them different names and different storylines (if you get what I mean!) I'm Ok with using a spreadsheet for our word counts!

I love to be allies with Fantasy, Folklore and Meta-fi, but I don't mind too much <3

Cabin Aesthetics

I have lots of ideas in my head, but it would be hard to explain so I think it would be best to use a shared canva! <3 I do have a few colour schemes in ind that I'll share with you on canva :eyes:

Cabin Merch!

I would love to have pfps/banners! I definitely would not be the one drawing them though, as you would probably end up with stick figures haha <3 I think they add a really nice touch to the cabin (i loved it last session when xeno-fi all had matching pfps :00) - would either of you be up for drawing some?

Hi, I'm Eris, as you both know, and I'm really excited to work with you guys! This is my first time leading (I've also never co-ed before, so I'm very inexperienced), and I'm really glad to have you guys here <3 Project Hail Mary has been one of my longest-lasting obsessions and I'm so incredibly excited for November!! Other than that, I also game, draw occasionally, crochet, and many more. I was introduced to swc through Ly and this coming session will mark my third session, or completing one whole cycle/a year of swc! Time has flown way too fast…


Oh, one more thing, is there anything each of you want to particularly get done/achieve in November?


Otherwise, I'm going to focus on the cabin blurb and atmosphere + symbol first since they're the most pressing deadlines.

For the blurb, I've come up with this draft:
On board the spaceship Hail Mary, campers learn that they've been sent on a mission through space. The stars are dying, including the sun, except for one — Tau Ceti. The only way to save humanity is by finding out why the star is mysteriously bright as ever. Through completing challenges (vauge as we haven't decided exactly what activities) and working together, campers race against time to save life on Earth, encountering something suprising along the way… (spoiler marbles! foreshadowing Rocky!!)

For the atmosphere, we have a little bit more time, but I think the draft Silvi came up with was great with a few minor edits:

make just sounds a bit deeper (as in like the connection) than meet new friends if that makes sense?

ooooo I really like the four-point one! On that note, do we want to have cabin currency, if we're having pfps and banners? It's a good way of getting campers to join in, as once they get a certain amount of currency they can request for a pfp/banner/signature! If we do want cabin currency, then we should probably have a name for it! We could just say ‘stars’ as that is related to the book quite heavily

Haha, yes! I've been crocheting for nearly two years now. I love making amigurumi, and I've made different types of animals in particular, namely many whales, three stingrays, two ducks, one wolf, and many more I'm sure I'm currently forgetting. I am trying to get into more practical pieces like bags, pouches, etc too though! What about you?

I'm not sure, what does a cabin guide really entail? If it's what I think it is — a guide around the storyline? maybe? — then possibly as the idea of PHM could be pretty complicated to someone who isn't familiar with it.

I've actually found an Eridsona (Rocky's species, named after the planet they live on called Erid) maker linked from Pin on Picrew. If you google eridsona it should show up! I think we could consider using that for pfps, although we'll have to check the creator's permissions first <3

I think all of your suggestions are really great! As mentioned in my offers to both of you, I'm planning to theme most of the activities around important plot points in Project Hail Mary. Marbles, please let me know when you've watched the show so that I can really iron out and discuss what plot points to use. For Silvi, although knowledge of the text isn't the most important, if you have the time and interest in PHM, reading or watching the movie would make the storyline specifics much easier <3 Of course, no pressure to do so if you're not interested!

Yes, I agree! Here are some prompts that I used last time (I modified some to fit with phm)

- write XXX words describing a day in the life at XXX (idk where the day in the life would be, but I'll read the book soon so I can understand more)
- Roleplay with another camper describing XXX (what activity would they be describing?)
- create a PHM moodboard
- write XXX words describing the landscape on the spaceship
- drink some water and take a stretch break!
- complete a task that you've been procrastinating
- go outside and jot down 3 things you see

the last ones are quite easy - feel free to suggest some more!

mid-session activities

I love this idea for how special it could be (I saw Xeno-Fi's from last session and it was gorgeous <33) However I'm not sure if I'd have the time to do it, (i.e. it might take a good bit of time after the session to come out) depending on how extensive we'd want it to be, but I would definetely be up for it if you guys are too!

I think one person being in charge of each activity would make it easier to manage and spread out the load/roles, but depending on what they are! I think we can first look at what activities we want to do, plan the content, then assign the parts/roles for actual execution <3

- write XXX words describing a day in the life at XXX (idk where the day in the life would be, but I'll read the book soon so I can understand more)

I think this would work for day in the life on board the spaceship, or something like that!

- Roleplay with another camper describing XXX (what activity would they be describing?)

We could theme it around laboratory work, or exploring space, maybe?

- create a PHM moodboard

I think this is good!

- write XXX words describing the landscape on the spaceship

I think we can do without this as it could be quite similar to the first two prompts.

- drink some water and take a stretch break!
- complete a task that you've been procrastinating
- go outside and jot down 3 things you see (or maybe touch grass? haha)

I love these three! I do want to make sure campers take care of themselves, and I think it's good to have a fifty-fifty between the themed prompts and the self-care ones. If we have cabin currency (which I have forgotten to respond to darn it), we can also have prompts for self-care as well!

On that note, do we want to have cabin currency, if we're having pfps and banners? If we do want cabin currency, then we should probably have a name for it! We could just say ‘stars’ as that is related to the book quite heavily

I think cabin currency would be good, but it might be a little complicated. We could also encourage participation by saying something like ‘once you do x number of dailies/activities you can order a pfp’, which is what Mystery did last session!

Haha, yes! I've been crocheting for nearly two years now. I love making amigurumi, and I've made different types of animals in particular, namely many whales, three stingrays, two ducks, one wolf, and many more I'm sure I'm currently forgetting. I am trying to get into more practical pieces like bags, pouches, etc too though! What about you?

I have made two cardigans, lots of hanging plants, loads of keychains and book sleeves (i'm making one right now!) - I've also started doing more amigurumi <3
