What does "You have arrived at a page that is only allowed via VPN access" mean?
This likely means that the webpage is only available to Scratch Team members, who need to use a certain VPN to access that webpage.

However, if you capitalize the letter A in the “Abuser” part of the userpage URL, then you can access it:
https://scratch.mit.edu/users/abuser_lol/ doesn't work.
https://scratch.mit.edu/users/Abuser_lol/ doesn't give the VPN message.

What does "You have arrived at a page that is only allowed via VPN access" mean?
Maybe it might be an entirely different user or a user that doesnt exist for the one with capital A?

Did anyone try creating an account with that username type? (abuser_ ?)I didn't actually create it but I put it in the username thing and it didn't get tripped by the username filter.

Maybe it could be a violating profile that the scratch team needs to monitor. Or maybe AdminBlocked it actually for. But I dont know.
API Endpoints for Moderation: Technology platforms often use paths like /??use or /??user_reports for internal admin scripts. If Scratch's internal moderation routing shares that naming syntax, the firewall blocks public access to that string prefix entirely to prevent bad actors from reverse-engineering or spamming their internal endpoints.
..
Mass Account Scraping / Bot Mitigations: If automated botnets or ban-speedrunners flooded Scratch by mass-creating profiles using a specific automated naming convention (like ??user_1, ??user_2), network engineers deploy a broad regex filter at the firewall level to stop the automated traffic from hammering the platform's servers.
On the Scratch Forums, the community constantly talks about how ban speedrunners try to shock the system by doing extreme or rule-breaking things as fast as possible. When you cross a ban speedrun trend with the ??user_ URL lock, it points directly to how a firewall works:..
Because ban speedrunners create new alternate accounts over and over, they usually rely on a VPN to change their IP address to evade automatic Scratch Team IP bans.
1. The Speedrunner Defense Mechanism
- If a wave of speedrun trolls started naming their throwaway accounts ??user_1, ??user_2, etc., the site's network security software would notice.
To stop them, the security system sets up a strict rule: If any incoming request hits a path containing ??user_, lock it down immediately.
