It says we have to give fishy-games-studio's state, but we are not kids. If anybody who works for Scratch sees this, don't say “Please say this in Contact Us”. This is a genre of topics called Questions about Scratch that the Scratch Team should be able to answer. So the workers on Scratch, please answer it here or on my profile. Don't make me do this all over again in the Contact Us area. It's like saying that I have to put Suggestions for Scratch on the Contact Us area.

You have to confirm state to comply with the child safety laws in whatever state you're in.

I recall that this happened in the beginning of the year around the time that the Terms of Service updated. If I remember correctly (someone else should confirm this), it asks for the state because of new state-by-state laws which dictate how old someone must be to use the website. I think if you give a state that requires under-13s to have parental permission to use the Internet, then it will ask you to provide your parent's email address or something. Again, someone should confirm this because I probably have the details wrong.

Does it change anything if we are a company of multiple people across the US using the same account?

@ChristianScratcher1 is correct, it is not allowed for multiple people to use the same account. Pretty much everything on the Scratch website (including the pop-up that you are having trouble with) assumes that only one person is the sole user of the account.

Well, they are different. The people who run this site can do whatever they want, including having shared accounts, as they all trust each other. But you can’t trust everyone.

Of course they can. They openly share their email to everyone else through the Contact Us link, right? This is despite the fact that people are not allowed to share their email addresses on Scratch.

As another analogy, obviously government officials are allowed to look at governmentally-official documents that the rest of the general public are not allowed to access…
