Hmm, there is a high possibility that it is either the NGP update or they are trying to “Rework the search bar feature” plus the explore page too?

I have seen new featured projects and studios showing up on the homepage, however. When the NGP migration begins and if they anticipate any maintenance windows that may affect site performance, the team will announce ahead of time.

This will maybe be an sign of NGP, but the actual NGP release will happen in the fall and the summer has just started.

It's mid-summer wdym? Anyways fall starts around September tho?

If the site is currently migrating, I feel like the site itself would be under maintenance mode so that people using Scratch aren't having a very confusing time during the migration. (plus I think there was maintenance mode on the migration from 2.0 to 3.0?)

Back on topic, maybe it’s not happening yet because they didn’t put any announcements about it and the maintenance would be too big for them NOT to have an announcement for it

To be honest, my guess to when they are migrating is after the Scratch Mentor Program applications close

the search and explore page keeps going blank sometimes recently, not once

They would probably say something plus the website isn’t down, it’s just been laggy occasionally.
Also last year there was a period where search wasn’t working, it was just a glitch.

But I think it is currently migrating but differently (I think they don't need to announce to us though because it's just the first step

There was once a PR on the scratch-www repo that implied that the current website will still exist but be read-only during the NGP migration, and users will eventually be redirected to scratch.org one-by-one.

The search bar on Scratch is not working because the site's internal search engine is experiencing a widespread outage and server lag. maybe thats why?
