The Scratch Team just released the demo for the Song Editor. So far, it's looking really good, but it has a major limitation: the only instruments you can use for it are the ones from the “music” extension. This is still a pretty long list of instruments, but it would be really nice if you could take any sound effect and turn it into an instrument track. This would greatly increase the potential, by allowing us to make songs about a monkey screaming or even use our own sound effects to make songs.

On the other hand, I also found that trying to play an entire song was quite fidgety. Having to make multiple tracks, and then using the code blocks to play them all at once felt like a bit of a pain. It also means that trying to store multiple songs in one sprite can get it quite cluttered, especially since you can't name tracks. It would be nice if you could take a few separate tracks, and combine them into a sound that could be played with the

play sound [ v]

block. It wouldn't delete them, of course, so you could still edit them, but it would make the whole process much easier by allowing users to use the code blocks they're already familiar with.

This would be fun to use like in adding me vocalizing as a little effect. This would also help a bunch with organization

Can't you already do that via uploading a bad sound or recording it yourself on the sound tab? It would be reported under “Inappropriate music”
