Hey, Scratchers!

My name is Champika, and I’m so excited to introduce myself to you as Scratch’s new CEO. You may know me as Champ99, the sprite dancing through many of your Scratch projects. If you’ve been on Scratch for a long time, you may have even seen me in Scratch’s video updates back in 2018.



I’ve always believed that the community is the heart of Scratch, and I’m making it my priority to uplift your voices, be open with you as we make decisions, and ensure that Scratch is a place where you feel heard, cared for, and supported while you create what you imagine.

I invite you to check out my first project shared as CEO, and if you like, remix it to dance along with me and the other sprites in the sprite library! But more importantly, I’d love to hear from you. That’s why we’re launching:

Dear Scratch…

In this studio, we’re inviting Scratchers around the world to share what inspires them to imagine, create, share, and remix with Scratch! You can share why you create with Scratch, what the community means to you, ideas for Scratch’s future, and anything else you can imagine. I can’t wait to see your ideas and reconnect with you all.
