Hierophant - The Hierophant is both the fifth card of the Major Arcana and an important role in Ancient Greece. In Greece they were a person who interprets sacred mysteries, arcane principles, or esoteric doctrines. Paradox might not have lived in Ancient Greece, but is the embodiment of a Hierophant. One who dreams and interprets mysteries and ideas, sharing them and keeping them quiet. One who wonders, one who thinks. A leader in spirt, despite not leading a clan.

✩┈ Heya! I’m Mel, an artist, writer, scratcher, roleplayer, and theatre kid. I’m a minor and try to be a pretty positive person around people both online and in person. I enjoy making new friends and learning new things, my favorite subject in school is English as I get to both write and read! I was first introduced to warrior cats when I was pretty young, and while I still enjoy the series I do not plan on finishing all of it (because there is like a million books lol). My first experience with roleplaying was almost three years ago at this point, and was in person with some irl friends. Online I’ve been roleplaying for a few months, though I’m not sure the exact length. I’ve been in several roleplays over my time in the rp community, though I’ll get into that later in this application!
✩ Activity On scratch in general I’m on all the time, after and before school, during certain classes, during the weekends, ect. The majority of this time is spent roleplaying, though I do like to look at open drawing contests or just chat with friends sometimes! I would consider myself an active roleplayer, and I’ve never had a character suffer to inactiveness since my very first one. I don’t feel like I’ve ever really had a long time period (such as, a week or more at a time) where I am not able to be at least a little active, and I like to make sure my characters get a lot of use.
For longevity, I probably would keep Paradox until they are at least a middle aged warrior. As previously said I like to make sure my characters get lots of use, and don’t like oofing my characters. I’ve only had one exception to this, and that was a time period where my mental health was pretty bad and I prioritized that over a roleplay character.

Experience
✩┈ As previously said, I’ve been roleplaying for several months on scratch. During this time I’ve been in Generations, Tfcrp, TSS, and several smaller roleplays. I’ve had a variety of characters, and enjoy expanding the ones I’ve played!

✩┈ Past characters:

• Ashtrill, She/her, Tfcrp - Ashtrill was my first roleplay character on scratch. I admit, I was not the best roleplayer at that time and her personality and story was… boring, kind of? She was a brown and cream colorpoint, and I never did get around to drawing a reference or writing a bio for her. She was kind, sweet, and shy around new cats, but eventually that personality became uninteresting to roleplay for me and I had grown so much as a roleplayer that I couldn’t continue her story. I ended up oofing her when she was around 30 moons, so I had her for about 13 moons? (2025)
  

• Emberkit, She/they, Generations - I’m pretty sure Emmie and Ashtrill overlapped. I was really excited when I was accepted for Emberkit, and role played her lots. Her personality was a more cheery and really energetic one, and it was fun for me to play as her! She ended up oofing to weekly kit, a Generations function that randomly oofs a kit each week. • Koipond, she/they/it, Generations - Soon after Ember I got Koi. Her personality was similar to Emmie’s, yet I wanted a bigger focus on story telling, and was fun to roleplay! I’m still pretty proud of Koipond, I gave her a lot of lore and they had a very interesting story. I won’t explain all of her lore, but she ended up leaving its clan to become a loner, becoming mates with a cat from her former clan, and starting a small loner group.Koi died when they were around 20ish moons, as I was having some mental health issues and prioritized them over her. • Eveningbreeze, They/Fae/It, Tfcrp - Evening was my next Tfcrp character, and had a protective and really fierce personality. I enjoyed roleplaying them, and can’t exactly remember why I oofed fae. I did actually do a bio for them, and I’m still proud of the ref I did! (2025)
  

• Violetkit, He/They, Generations - Vio was an interesting character, and one I like roleplaying! He had an awkward personality, and it was fun to figure out how that played into interactions! They unfortunately oofed while trying to sneak out of camp, however. (2025 I believe)
  

• LegendSong, genderfluid, any pronouns, Generations - Lettie was my most recent gens character, and a medic of Flurryclan. He was a lot of fun, I had a great time developing her lore and story, and fae ended up oofing trying to take out wolves if you know the continuous safety fails. I was really sad when fae oofed, and they had a bossy/smart personality. (2026)

Red flags
✩┈ The biggest red flag I have is probably the fact that I do put my mental health and schoolwork ahead of roleplaying. It is currently summer so don't have any assignments for school currently, but will focus on those once school starts again. If I take another dip in my mental health I will most likely go inactive, though hopefully that won't happen.

Who am I applying for and why?
✩┈ The hierophant. The interlaced dreamer. The mismatched hope. The riddler and the questioner.
Paradox is all of these in one, and who I am applying for.
Application reasons
✩┈ Upon seeing this litter, I immediately took an interest in Paradox. Their golden eyes caught my attention, and the ideas came rushing in. I went through a few personalities and landed on one that I would love to roleplay—specifically with Parry. The litter is also one with a lot of backstory, something I always appreciate. Two oofed parents? One kit separated from the others? It brings a lot of story plots and lore that I can use to form Paradox’s life.
Despite it not being very old yet, I’ve been interested in the Stars Guardian’s since its creation. It seems like a very interesting group, and I was already planning for my next character to join it. Paradox would be a chance to have a character directly born (not really but close enough) in the group, which I feel would be an interesting way to add lore.

✩┈ As a young kit, Paradox will identify as female, straight, and use she/her pronouns. As she grows older however, it won't seem to fit and at around for moons she will start to identify as a demi-girl, and use she/they pronouns.
✩┈ At six moons she will start to learn more about neopronouns, and start to use them as well, still identifying as a demi-girl but using she/fae/they pronouns, as well as identifying as aroace. Around eight moons she will switch to agender, using fae/they pronouns, identifying as demi-romatic, pansexual.
✩┈ Later, around twelve moons, they will finally settle on genderflux and pronouns that change overtime.

They will think and wonder, learn and question, always fitting with their role. Someone who reveals hidden truths, a keeper of wisdom. The connection between ordinary cats and the cats who have ascended to something more, guiding others with secrets they will never share. A scholar of tradition, someone who bridges a gape and does so with confidence. Ado will forever long to be the one who is more than they seem, a foe who resides in the most inconspicuous place. They will learn and grow, forever following the path of those who came before them.

Paradox is bursting at the brim with one thing more than others: hope, and the need to reach it. She’ll fight and fight, try and try, standing tall in the face of others who try to block her from the path she believes in hers. It’s a burning passion, deep commitment to whatever task is in mind. Whether a goal small or big, unwavering focus grasps on and keeps on trying and trying. Nothing can break her resolve to win, to beat, nor to accomplish whatever her mind chooses to do, though it may try and fail. Some might call this behavior ‘stubborn’ or ‘obsessed’ yet she views it a far different way. Ado sees her determination as a noble force, pushing her to get work done and finish all she could want to finish. It’s a resolve, a hope, a wish to win, and the firm requirement to achieve whatever is needed. Yet, it does bring up problems and issues, in the fact that to slow down the Hierophant you will need an elephants worth of power.

She smiled and grins, her life a daring story of one who will try and try again. She will wonder and question, always learning and fact-checking until the right answer appears.

Opinions, Views and dynamics

The Hierophant has only faint memories of Hireath. She remembers a voice, a blurred out a face and the feeling of protection and safety. These memories however bring with them warmth, and hope at being taken in. Ado will only ever see her father through dreamvists that come inconsistently. She will see him in the light of someone who is alive, just far away. Far, far away.
One of the few times Paradox will ever reveal her true self is around her parent, someone who she believes will support her no matter what. As a Starclan cat Hireath is trusted by her, due to how she was raised in the Star’s Guardians. She is willing to follow him and do what he says no matter what, believing his word to be true.
She is often nervous at first around him, wondering if she had done something wrong since their last visit. She feels the need to prove herself each time, showing that she is deserving of love and protection, and of being saved long ago. This caution, however, can lead to a sort of perfectionism. Forcing upon herself needing to win, to reach self made standards for her father.
She will forever and always see someone to prove herself to, a savior, less a parent.

Paradox sees other members of the Star’s Guardians as allies and those she can trust. They are cats like her, who wish to put the Star’s first, and will fight to protect them. She instantly feels a kin-ship with them, despite not being related. However, her trust is not instantly gained. Sometimes kin can betray you, and she remembers that. If they wish to get close to her they must first prove that they and trustworthy and loyal, though she will still fight to protect them.
Newer recruits are not given the status as family. They could just as easily follow the Forest’s Villains (her name for the members of the dark forest), be cats placed to harm the group. Until they are accepted by Starclan she will often avoid them, hiding away or avoiding eye contact.

Parry’s relationship with those long gone is… complicated. She sees them as both ancient hero’s and omens, things to be weary of.
Growing up in the Star’s Guardians she learns respect for Starclan, or the Star’s Hero’s, and does up following the path of believing in them. The Forest’s Villans are seen as evil to her, enemies to avoid. Yet… Yet… she is smart as well. She knows you can learn from enemies, and allies.
As she grows up she will be fascinated in both groups. Asking for stories and tales, and loving to dreamvist family. She enjoys seeing those she never met during their life, and asks them countless questions.
The Hierophant will always maintain this interest, grown from her time in the Star’s Guardians and dreamvists with her parents. Throughout her life it will stay with her, no matter which path she takes.

Addy sees life as a mystery, yet one that can be uncovered. It's a force, something that follows a predetermined path, but the path can be tracked. Like animal foot prints on the ground omens and prophesies are scattered pieces of the future and what will come.
Sometimes, however, it feels like the force is guiding things… astray. Death, destruction, neither has a point yet both exist and stand strong. Life is chaos, and peace. Out of the destruction new life blooms, yes, but wouldn't it be better if it was never destroyed? Being an idealist and an analytical one, she sees it like a curving lane instead of one straight and to the point, needing change. No one could intend for things to go wrong, or mistakes to be made.
Trust.
Trust is important, trust in the universe.
You must trust the stars and trust their path, if you want it to lead to the right places. Those who prefer to embrace chaos and a chaotic life will be brought to places of chaos, hard life and struggles.
However, in life the Hireophant feels like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Good, trusting, yet still… given struggles and rough times. Both of her parents are dead, left alone with a family member. A hard life as a loner, even in a group.
Though, she still trusts. She stills works, still believes in the future.

Mannerisms
Speaking - The Hierophant’s first langue is speech. It is what her parents spoke to her when she was barely old enough to remember anything, and the form of communication used commonly amount recruits. Still, being a quick learner, she soon will take up and learn the signs used in the Star’s Guardians.
At around 4 moons of age she will be fluent enough in the signs to use them most of the time, while still offering spoken words along with them. Ado will see them as a way of marking that she is worthy of living in the group, and be proud of them. This will cause her to almost fully switch over to them, while still using speech for new recruits, younger kits, and other cats who aren’t as fluent.
In terms of verbal communication she will speech relatively fast, wanting to save time with each word. Around those who don’t process sounds as well she will slow down reluctantly, though simply speak less on account of the effort.
Movement - Much like her verbal communication Paradox will move quickly throughout her whole life. As a kit it will be a way to show that she is working hard, her worthiness, and just something she enjoys. As she grows older it will branch out into more of a way to save time, though she will still foster a love for running.
Quick movements also include things like reaction time, which she will practice. Wanting to hold her own in a fight and not feel… well, worthless, she will often practice training or playfights. These will help grow her perception and response time, allowing for her to be much better in a fight.
Nervous habits - When nervous Ado will often rely on fidgeting. This shows a side effect of her ADHD, as well as a natural habit most people show, and will often come when stressed or just feeling a strong emotion.
The most common ways she fidgets is by twitching her ears back and forth, which provides a feeling and a slight difference in sound. It helps her focus. And allows for a sigh is she is feeling stressed, tired, anxious, or generally in a negative mood.
Emotions - The Hierophant is a generally expressive cat. She shows her emotions like a badge on her sleeve, and doesn’t often try to cover them up. This allows other cats to quickly assess what she is feeling, at least if she wants them to.
If around cats she dislikes, feels nervous around, or wants to impress, this badge is tucked away in a pocket. It’s like she pulls on a mask, a way to both protect herself and the other cat’s feelings.
A more monotone expression and voice make it harder to see signs of emotion, though they are still there. Things like fidgeting or quicker speech can show negative feelings, while a soft smile and more stable stance can show happiness or calmness.
General impressions
Upon seeing the Hierophant people often are put at ease. She doesn’t have a particularly intimidating build or appearance, and seems more friendly.
