Hi, and welcome to the megathread for Scratch WriteFight June 2026! This is a place where you can post your attacks, example writing pieces of your characters, and any and all infomration relating to your characters and worlds for this session of WriteFight. Posting in this forum is completely optional; however to avoid congesting the forums for other users, please use one personal writing thread in the “Things I'm Making and Creating” forum and stick with that thread for the entirety of the event if you do not wish to use this megathread to share your writing.
Characters
Please do not post character bios here, as it likely won't be seen by the wonderful spreadsheet data entry helpers (listed at the bottom of this post) helping with the upkeep of the character database. Instead, please post your characters in the offical character database - that way, it'll be seen by those doing the admin work and added to the database! If your character has been missed being added to the database and it's been three days since you've posted them, please either message a host or a spreadsheet helper and we'll be happy to check and add them in for you!
Guidelines for this forum
How to use this forum
There are multiple ways you can use this forum! It's up to you which way you choose, as long as there's a way to show proof for all your attacks. You can either make one megapost for all your writing and update it accordingly as you create attacks, or you can create a seperate post for each of your attacks/pieces of writing and optionally update a directory post.
Who to contact
If you have a question about the event itself, please direct your queries to one of the hosts: Sandy, Skylar, or Hope. We don't bite and we'll be very happy to answer your questions!
If your character hasn't been added to the character database or your attack hasn't been added after a few days, then you can contact any of the hosts (Sandy, Skylar, or Hope) or any of the wonderful spreadsheet data entry helpers: Mildred, Ember, Julia, Liv, Sunny, Serrie, and Vicky, who will check and update our database accordingly.

Scratch WriteFight Megathread || June 2026
About, Rules, and Notes
ty skylar for ghostwriting part of this!
About the Event
WriteFight is a character-swapping writing game inspired by ArtFight. In this event, you join one of 2 teams—in this season, they are Heroes and Villains. Then, you put up bios of your characters, then find bios from other Scratchers and “attack” these Scratchers by writing about their characters. These attacks will earn your team points based primarily on the form of writing used (prose, poetry, script, etc.) as well as the word count of your work.
For its first-ever season, WriteFight will take place in June 2026. It will likely be an annual event!
Rules
1. All attacks must include at least one character that is not your own to count. Writefight is all about swapping characters with someone else, so an attack won’t count if you’ve only used your own characters!
2. Please be respectful while writing others' characters! Adhere to character permissions as well as overall Scratch rules, and if you're unsure about something it's always better to ask.
3. Proof will be required for all attacks, although you are allowed to message a host privately for it to be added (please let us know, and please still send it to the characters' owners as well) - WriteFight is all about sending and receiving writing for your characters, after all!
4. If you find yourself unsure of what to do in a situation where someone seems to be making too many attacks, there’s drama, or there’s just a situation with points or something, please contact a host (Sandy, Skylar, or Hope) and we’ll sort it out ^^
5. Please do not use generative AI to create attacks. We will tolerate people using it to write bios or to edit their own writing. But if we have reasonable suspicion that you're using AI to write the main bulk of an attack, we will disqualify it - we have a 0 tolerance policy for using AI, especially feeding it others' works without permission.
General Notes
1. When you attack a character, if that character hasn't been previously attacked before, you will get 10 extra points!
2. Writefight will begin on June 1st 00:00 UTC - no attacks or writing can be done before then that’ll count for points! However, planning out attacks and outlining are allowed. It's definitely advised you get a head start on reading about others' characters!
If something in this post is unclear or you have questions in general, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of the hosts! It may be that someone else has the exact same question. Either way, we are more than happy to explain things

Sunshine Bay
World Information
I'm aware this is probably a huge information overload. No, you don't have to use every aspect of it, and the fact we have this much information about a made-up city is… maybe slightly concerning? Also this gets more delirious the more we go down. And sillier. It gets sillier.
Basic Info
Sunshine Bay is a bustling metropolitan city-state found on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand, roughly where Napier and Hastings are today. The city has transport-orientated and sustainability-focused development, with a functional public transit system spanning a metro, mainline rail, multiple bus routes, and multiple tramways. Sunshine Bay is as close to a utopia as possible: everyone is provided for by the state, healthcare is free, there are no slums in the land area - and council housing is actually decent.
Also I realise this is a ton of information in one post, there’s been A LOT of worldbuilding… we got as far as making a bin collection schedule, so-
City Structure
Sunshine Bay is made up of six major districts: City of Sunshine Bay, Otter Bay Area, Hope Harbour District, Westwood Hills, District of Evergreen, and Riverside District (affectionately known as Riversideshire, AKA the place where the Welsh live.) Each district has its own identity, since the current districts of Sunshine Bay used to be separate towns that merged together due to urban sprawl.
Each district, except from the City of Sunshine Bay, is split into three wards. The wards may also have their own separate identities, but that’s less likely to occur. Most of them are chill, unless you’re from Riversideshire or you’re from Marshdown Lake. There's a map below for reference! The city is around 30km across from Otter Bay to Birchstowe, so keep that in mind when talking distances.
City of Sunshine Bay
The City of Sunshine Bay houses the city’s main Central Business District (CBD) and is also home to the city centre. It’s where the city’s governments are, and is the only district of Sunshine Bay that isn’t split into wards. The city is a centre for research and has a sprawling biomedical campus which houses the city’s largest hospital, Sunshine Bay Hospital, and a children’s hospital. There’s also Exhibition Square where many museums are located and a rather touristy part of town, and Parliament Square which is the main administrative centre is located. Most businesses and office blocks are located in Canary Square, while
Within Sunshine Bay, there’s the large council housing area of Highbrook, where many lower-income families have a council home provided for in well-built apartments. There is also Marina Bay (affectionately known as the Bay Area), a large waterfront area with beaches most often used by beach goers, and many tourist shops.
Otter Bay Area
Otter Bay is split into three wards: Marshdown Lake, Otter Bay, and Moorhaven Harbour. Moorhaven Harbour is a former industrial district, currently undergoing a revitalisation similar to the London Docklands. The old port was moved into the area of Sunshine Bay City as the old port was found to be damaging to the environment of Otter Bay. The area is now transitioning into office space and tourism, as the nearby Otter Bay ward has lots of scenery and lots of seals. (Otter Bay is actually a misnomer, it was originally called Otter Bay because the people who first settled there thought seals were otters… no but in actuality I was like “otters are cute!” and then we decided to put this in New Zealand where otters don’t exist so we have fur seals instead) Industry has also been moved to Hope Harbour.
Marshdown Lake is where some fishing industry occurs, due to its close proximity to Marsh Lake. Unfortunately, Marshdown Lake has a fierce rivalry with Riverside over fishing rights in the lake, and they really don’t like the people from Riverside (in a British Rivalry way) and is also now primarily used for birdwatchers as it’s very… marshy.
Riversideshire
Riversideshire is the Yorkshire/Wales/whatever of Sunshine Bay. The three wards, Riverside, Hazelmarsh, and Ashthorpe, have an intense rivalry with each other and the district as a whole has a rather one-sided rivalry with the neighbouring Otter Bay District, which is most intense between Marshdown Lake and Riverside due to their arguments over the fishing rights in Marsh Lake. If you know how varying levels of one-sided or possibly two-sided or very intense British rivalries work, this is basically the entire district of Riversideshire.
Westwood Hills
Westwood Hills is, as its name might suggest, a district with lots of hills to the west of the city. That’s about it. Westwood Hills people are chill. It’s split into the wards of Blossomhurst, Westwood Hills, and Ashton Heath.
Evergreen District
Evergreen District is an area that used to be made up of multiple small towns before urban sprawl happened and they’re now all part of Sunshine Bay. The district is split into three wards: Brooklyn, Evergreen, and Aspen. Evergreen district is home to Sunshine Bay Evergreen International Airport (IATA code: EVI, Hope and I spent ages looking for an airport code that wasn’t in use, please appreciate our efforts), a large commercial airport with multiple terminals and two runways. The airport is administered by the Sunshine Bay City authority and is not under the control of Evergreen Ward’s local council.
Despite urban sprawl, Evergreen is the most sparsely populated area of Sunshine Bay. The wards have become commuter towns for the main city and CBD.
Hope Harbour
Hope Harbour is where much of the heavy industry from Moorhaven and Otter Bay has since been moved, and is the current industrial centre and shipping area of Sunshine Bay. It’s split into the wards of Hope Harbour, Thornton Grove, and Birchstowe. The area here is vaguely foresty, at least before some or most of it got demolished for buildings… or something.
Transportation
All transport within Sunshine Bay is subject to a zoning system; specifically the railways and metro. All public transit can be paid for by the Breeze Card, Sunshine Bay’s version of a pay-as-you-go public transit card.
Trains
Sunshine Bay has outside connections via Sunshine Bay International Railway Station, connecting to the wider New Zealand train network, run by Eastern Railway. There’s also the suburban rail lines run by Citylink. In addition, the overground, which is run by Transport for Sunshine Bay, is also a mainline rail service.
Metro
The city’s metro system is run by Transport for Sunshine Bay and has six lines: Northern, Central Northwestern, Circle, District, Otter Bay and City, and Bay lines. (No, we did not steal these names from the London Underground… mmmhm….) The best way to explain this is map (thank you Hope!)
Buses
An actually functional bus network that we don’t have a map of because making a map of this would require making road maps and making road maps means getting Cities Skylines of which Hope’s computer lags a bunch and Skylar’s computer is currently nonexistent, so. BUT ANYWAY! FUNCTIONAL BUS NETWORK! YAY! There's also bus prefixing as follows which you're free to use or disregard…
0 prefix / no leading prefix: tourist buses and central Sunshine Bay commuter buses
* 001/1: Evergreen International Airport Express Bus
1 prefix: Commuter buses covering the whole of Sunshine Bay’s city limits
2 prefix: Buses running within Evergreen District
3 prefix: Buses running within Riverside District
4 prefix: Buses running within the Otter Bay Area
5 prefix: Buses running within Hope Harbour
6 prefix: Commuter buses running to places in Sunshine Bay
7 prefix: Buses that make loops within and around Sunshine Bay’s City limits (ring road buses)
8 prefix: Charter services, very uncommon
9 prefix: not in use
Trams
There currently doesn’t exist trams but there might? We don’t know. We’ll see.
Bikes
There’s actually! good! cycling! infrastructure! Cycle lanes are found on every road demarcated in red lanes and white markings where separate cycle lanes aren’t found. There’s also better Boris Bikes for bike hire.
Air
Evergreen International Airport (EVI) is the city’s main air link in and out of the city. It houses four sprawling international terminals and four runways, which allows it to run for up to 24 hours a day. It allows for arrivals and departures on its four parallel runways and has high capacity. It’s connected via the metro to the main city via the Circle Line, but also has other rail connections to other places in the city. There was more worldbuilding but we need to redo it since we decided where Sunshine Bay was actually located…
Governance
Sunshine Bay is overseen by the Sunshine Bay Regional Authority (SBRA), a division of the central government that deals with local issues such as transport, education, more transport, development, even more transport, healthcare, more healthcare, SOCIALISED HEALTHCARE FTW and all that jazz. It has different departments, such as Transport for Sunshine Bay (TfSB), which oversees the metro, buses, and overground and the Sunshine Bay Medical Services (SBMS) which oversees the funding and building of hospitals and urgent care centres and GP practices and all the fun healthcare things. They also oversee bin collection, which we have an unfinished schedule for…

Aurora Bay
World Information
Basic Info
Aurora Bay is just like any other big city - it has a metro system, a train system (standard gauge ftw!), hospitals, public services, etc. It’s by the coast of some big country and is also a city state (like half my cities are). Its skyline features a lot of skyscrapers and high rise apartments, but it’s also a very pretty place! And it’s also a democracy with the Best Voting System in place: Single Transferrable Vote! (yes I have opinions now shush)
This world was mainly created as a playground for me to discuss the impact that having superheroes/superpowered humans would have on public services because I was like “medical drama plus law and order plus spies and secret agents plus superheroes what could possibly go wrong??” and here we are
Superpowers, Superheroes, Vigilantes, and Villains
Superpowers are either inherent or they can be given, it’s honestly up to the backstory and isn’t a thing I’ve figured out yet. Most people don’t have superpowers, but for those that do many of them choose to become superheroes or somehow use their powers in a way that benefits them. In the eyes of the law, all superheroes are vigilantes (with the exception of the Stellar Force) and they also cause a lot of destruction.
There are various groups operating throughout the city, and the government is slowly losing its control on law and order within the city so more superheroes are coming. Meanwhile the hospital and ambulance staff (okay mainly Elanna, Amber, and Rena) are complaining about lack of funding because destruction. I haven’t done much worldbuilding here so it’s up to you how you interpret this ahah
City Services
Hospitals and Ambulance Services
The main setting is Aspen Glenn Memorial Hospital, which is located in an okay-ish part of town, serving some parts of the central business district, is somewhat close to the more crummy parts of town, and is also close to some of the safer parts of town. The emergency department is headed by Dr Elanna Barton and Charge Nurse Amber Roberts, though there’ll be different people on shift throughout because labour laws exist. Aspen Glenn Memorial Hospital is a major trauma centre and deals with a lot of mass casualty incidents and patients who’ve suffered major trauma.
The ambulance service is just like any other ambulance service - there are various stations dotted around town and it’s separate from the fire and police services. Paramedics and EMTs crew the ambulances, and there’s also a helicopter air ambulance service as well for major trauma cases.
The health service suffers from a lack of funding (it’s not chronic, but they are underfunded), since the money is being put into rebuilding the destruction that superpowered humans have caused and also regulating vigilante behaviour and tracking down criminals and all that jazz.
The Criminal Justice System and Policing
The city has its own police force and has prosecution and defense lawyers since all people need to be represented in court, and there’s a strong belief in justice within those who run the system. The police force is strong, and there’s a vigilante investigations team that’s a team of detectives plus an ADA (like in law and order svu) that investigates the actions of any superpowered individual, and brings them to court.
Fire Brigade
It exists. It responds to emergencies. That’s about it! I can’t really say anything else about these guys since I never think about them but hey.
ERIS and the Intelligence Services
ERIS is an organisation that kinda operates outside of the scope of most of the city’s usual intelligence services. ERIS was specifically created to combat the rising threats from superpowered humans, and it’s currently headed by Director Eirene Chelmsford and Deputy Director Agent Alayna Hope. (Alayna didn’t want to stop being a field agent and doesn’t like being referred to as the deputy director. She just has a lot of paperwork and she hates it so she has two titles) They also have no qualms about recruiting teenagers to their ranks because that’s exactly what happened to Rena, Emrys, Aspen, Alayna, and others.
The rest of the city’s intelligence services are pretty mundane and unremarkable.
The Stellar Force
The only “legal” superhero team that operates in Aurora Bay. Initially created by the government, the Stellar Force aims to become a symbol of superheroes and superpowers the city can look up to, instead of relying on vigilantism and whatnot. It’s currently a team of five people, though there are plans to expand to include anyone who has superpowers.
The current members are undecided save for Agent X who is Emrys Bright and is very unhappy with this whole arrangement, and is maybe currently plotting the fake death of her alter ego. Emrys is supposed to act as the liaison between the Stellar Force and ERIS, who supply them with intelligence and equipment but in reality that’s more Alayna’s job. Emrys usually finds herself mentoring the others and escaping media attention where she can.

Munsia
Welcome to the country of Munsia, a distant place wiped off of most maps. People here usually live in either the city or distant temples, no inbetween. The capital being a city known as Soyto.
The people in the cities typically don’t believe in gods or deities, though they believe in spirits and curses. The ideal occupation for most people in the cities is to be exorcists, as they have quite a high pay and people always feel safer as exorcists. Most people work gathering food for markets, the currency used is called ‘dalcs’. Dalcs are a very strong currency, and inflation has never been a problem. People in a city live under the guidance of spirits, as they are thought to be elders to the people. Some spirits try to lead people astray, or haunt the people, which is what exorcists are for. Exorcists live under a very strict set of rules, and they are told to never exorcise a spirit unless they cause any harm to people. Exorcists are near the top of the social pyramid, and are thought to be the protectors of cities. They always have work, since evil spirits are always wandering around. Exorcists will expel curses from people, and also get rid of evil spirits. But, if they are to exorcise a regular spirit, they will be executed.
On the other hand, people who live in temples have devoted their entire lives to the deity they are worshiping, children born by families in temples will be raised within the temple, and are typically prohibited from leaving until they turn 18, which is the age they will start doing practices for the deities. Children born in temples are expected to carry the family’s legacy, and often do not get a choice in if they wish to continue worshipping the deity or not. If they choose not to follow the religion they were born in, they will often be ridiculed, as they are not following what is thought to be the norm. One of the most prominent religions in the country is called Kunism, which worships the deity named Kumo, a god with spider-like features.
Spirits set the rules for people to follow, and are also who judges people thought to have committed crimes. They are the only species higher than exorcists. However, if a spirit falsely punishes someone or wreaks havoc, exorcists are immediately given permission to exorcise them. Every week, exorcists are sent letters on what spirits to exorcise. Some people can also be cursed by spirits or other unknown entities, which is also the job of exorcists to remove the curse from the person’s body.
People in temples are no exception, and follow the rule of spirits. People in temples are known for being orderly, so the stepping in of spirits are rarely needed.
People living in temples see spirits as the messengers of deities, and that after death the deity has sent them down to protect the people. While people living in the city simply see them as people who have been lost in the past, and are now guiding the living.
Humans cannot see spirits, they only can if they come into possession of an object possessed by the spirit, or enter a place possessed by a spirit. Spirits can only interact with objects, excluding the object of their possession. They can interact with people who are in possession of their object, and can only be heard by people with their object. Only certain spirits are communicated with, which are spirits trusted with judgement. Spirits can prove themselves to the people of being trusted, which have to be approved by already trusted spirits. It is forbidden to come in contact with spirits if you do not work in exorcism or law, and if you do work in law you will work under guidance of spirits. If you find any possessed items, you must immediately hand them to an exorcist to keep safe.
Spirits will eventually have to pass on, which is a rite done by exorcists. If a spirit feels ‘fulfilled’ they will ask an exorcist to be exorcised, but can only be exorcised under certain conditions. Conditions being how long they’ve been a spirit for, and what they have done. If they fulfill conditions, exorcists will be allowed to exorcise them. This is the only condition in which they can exorcise a spirit that has done no wrong.
Most people in Munsia speak one common language, but people who live in temples typically use a different dialect. However, the language is still recognizable, slight pronunciation differences are all that tells the dialects apart.
Quick Facts:
- Kunism worships a god named Kumo, and in this world Kumo is a real deity. However, other religions do exist since there hasn’t been a confirmation of this fact. You can make up the other religions if you’d like to write anything for these characters!
- An important part of history for Munsia would be the 13-year darkness. In this timeframe, an inventor named Kai Ha attempted to make a machine capable of exorcising spirits automatically. However, the invention had wiped all of the spirits from Soyto and the surrounding forest (Everseek Forest) This caused immense issues due to the country’s government being built on spirits. The spirit population was able to increase from wandering spirits from neighboring cities, but many people had been sacrificed to help the city’s spirit population come back to normal. Further developments on exorcism was outlawed after the 13 year darkness.
- Munsia is a fantasy world and also takes place in the past so modern stuff doesn’t exist

attack on @EvaEvergreen & @taylorsversion–words: 547
Aurelie shut her cabin door behind her. It was just after sunrise– she wasn't much of an early bird, but she was an artist, and painting the rays of the sun beaming down on the world was a different kind of magic.
She set up the easel and stand right in front of her pond, and squinted at the golden sphere in the sky, dipping her paintbrush into a pot of blue paint. She settled into a zone of peace, with just her and the strokes dripping onto the canvas, her and her mind's imagination on the page.
“Um, excuse me?” said a voice in a strange shifting accent.
Aurelie almost dropped her brush onto her seat. Her head snapped up. She craned her neck all around, but there was no one in sight. It could have been the birds in that tree, but…
“I'm here,” the voice chided. Aurelie looked down, wide eyes growing even wider. In the pond, her green eyes were reflected staring confused back at her. But the rest of her face was distorted by a face sticking out of the water.
She had the face of a regular girl, with chocolate skin and raven hair flowing around her, placid as if it was completely normal to pop out of lakes.
“Who are you?” Aurelie pointed the paintbrush at the girl.
“Oh, my name is Leni. It's nice to meet you… now would you tell me what I'm doing here?”
In all her time living in the cabin, she hadn't known there were anything other than fish and the occasional turtle in the pond. Certainly not a full-size whatever Leni was. Aurelie's tail flicked in agitation. To be honest, she had no idea what she was doing here either.
“I don't know,” Aurelie replied, twisting her tail in her hands.
“I'm a river nymph,” explained Leni. “But this isn't a river.”
“How– how did you come here?”
Leni looked a little anxious, brow furrowing. “I don't know. I was just swimming around like normal, and I came up to the surface, but I ended up here instead.”
“Did you try swimming down again?” the idea sounded silly to her own ears aloud, but she couldn't think of anything else. Leni shook her head.
“I guess it isn't that urgent to get back,” she said after a while of silence. She began to pull herself up, her pale blue dress miraculously dry. Halfway through, she froze. The water began to churn and twist, and it looked like the river nymph was being pulled back into the depths (well. It wasn't that deep, but still– ack!).
Aurelie leaned down, and clasped Leni's hand, before she realized that she could probably breathe underwater. That apparently didn't help the panic from surfacing. This was not how she'd pictured her morning.
And with a gasp, Leni was pulled under. Aurelie stood solid for a minute or two, unsure what to do. Then she cleared her throat, pulled her auburn hair into a small ponytail, and put her face in the water. As much as she scanned the surprisingly clear pond, there was no sign of a nymph.
Aurelie straightened, shakily picking up her paintbrush. She could only hope that Leni was safe, and had been pulled back home.

Sara had met Emrys about four months ago, and she had known from the start that the girl was trouble.
Before freshman year, Sara would have kept a wide berth from anyone like that, hoping the distance would keep her from being caught in a chaos whirlwind.
Before freshman year, Grace was still her best friend.
So the June before school started up again she'd gathered up what little courage she had and marched straight up to the most un-Grace-like person she could find. This person turned out to be Emrys, a ball of fiery chaos who honestly scared Sara a little bit.
Where Grace wanted everyone to like her, Emrys didn't seem to care what anyone thought of her. Where Grace was hyper-aware of trends and other social constraints, Emrys was about as fashionable as a ring-tailed lemur wearing an ugly christmas sweater. Where Grace wanted more, Emrys appeared perfectly content with who she was.
At first, Emrys was wary and refused to tell Sara anything about herself. But after about a month of persistence, she started to open up a little bit.
By October, Emrys was dragging Sara along on just about every scheme. Sara could tell she still had secrets, but she didn't care. Being friends with Emrys felt like a constant roller coaster, that stomach-dropping rush of adrenaline following wherever they went together.
Today, Emrys wanted a fake ID, and she was determined to get both her and Sara each one. When Sara first heard about this notion, she'd arched an eyebrow and told Emrys that there was no way on Earth that she was going to help with that.
But Emrys had begged, and even deployed the infamous puppy eyes. So Sara, against her better judgement, agreed.
And that was why Emrys and Sara were now waiting in a dark alleyway for some mysterious ‘professional’ — that was all Emrys had deigned to tell her about him when Sara had asked — to come and make them fake IDs so they could sneak into a pub or something.
"I'm telling you, this guy knows what he's doing. I've heard some amazing reviews,“ Emrys told Sara.
”Oh yes, I'm sure these reviews are from very trustworthy sources,“ Sara shot back, rolling her eyes good-naturedly.
”They are!“ Emrys protested. ”My friends are really experienced in this sort of thing!“
”Okay, okay. I'm sure he'll be fine,“ Sara said, giving in. She could never hold her own for long in an argument against Emrys.
”Oh, I assure you, ladies, I'll be better than fine,“ said a voice.
Both Sara and Emrys jumped a little and turned around to see a man, about 20, leaning against a trash can and tossing a coin dangerously high in the air, miraculously catching it just before it fell into the gutter.
”Theodore Roosevelt,“ he said, sticking his hand out for them to shake.
Sara and Emrys looked at him dubiously.
”It's an alias,“ he explained. ”Don't want to get reported to the cops, do we?“
Sara rolled her eyes again, not so good-naturedly this time. She did not have high expectations for this guy.
”I'm Emrys,“ her friend said, shaking his hand. ”And this is Sara."
Sara groaned internally. Real names, Emrys? Really?
“Nice to meet you, ladies! So what can I do for you?”
“Well, my friend and I were hoping to meet a friend at a concert,” Emrys said, faking a pouty look. “But it seems we're too young?”
The ID guy grinned. “I've got just the thing.”

Hi Yume!!! I’m so excited to attack your characters <3 I thought I’d write a short attack based on the song Mob-no-derella by ≠ME, I don’t know how in love with that song you are, but anyway!!! I hope you enjoy - I’m really excited to start attacking your cool idol characters hehe.
This is a bit of an AU! I didn’t want to go full on into the whole Cinderella extra aspect of the song but I thought it would be fun to write about Yua failing an audition or two…? Also I got inspired by Cheer with my Heart! because low-key for some reason I see Yua as Airi…? Anyways I need to go study for Chemistry Paper 1 tomorrow so this is a shorter attack than I would have liked but I wanted to get this idea over and done with while it was in my head ahaha <3

Yua sat nervously in the waiting room. This was the sixth audition she was at, and she desperately hoped that she had been chosen to pass. She had to make it into this agency, she absolutely had to. Being an idol was her dream, and seeing other girls get what she wanted time after time crushed her.
She wasn’t sure if the judges liked her performance at all. She’d chosen AKB48’s Sentimental Train as her audition piece, but wasn’t even sure if the judges were impressed by that. She’d won lots of singing competitions before - but after her first rejection, she was begging to doubt her ability to become an idol more and more.
The sound of footsteps coming down the hall made Yua and all the other girls in the waiting room look up. The manager of the agency was here to decide who was going to be chosen. Yua hoped she’d done enough - hoped that she’d impressed the judges at this agency, and hoped that she’d be able to fulfill her dream of becoming an idol.
“Thank you all for auditioning today,” the manager said. “After a long discussion, we have decided to accept the following people.”
Yua was number fifteen on the audition list today. She hoped that he would say that they’d picked her. She crossed her fingers and hoped as the manager began to read out the names.
“Number four, Arisawa Mai!”
They were still a while out from Yua’s number, but there were forty other girls here today, all auditioning for about five spots at the company. The manager could completely skip over numbers five through twenty and jump straight to twenty one if the judges thought that they weren’t good enough.
“Number twelve, Sakurai Hiyori!”
Yua held her breath. Please be me, she thought. Please be me.
“Number fourteen, Miyazawa Sayaka!”
The next one would be her, right? Yua listened with desperation as the manager read out the next name.
“Number twenty two, Ikuta Mayu!”
Yua didn’t make it. She wasn’t called - again, her audition wasn’t enough. She put on her best effort today, and yet it wasn’t enough. Another failed audition. She should have picked another song, or put more effort into her dancing, and her voice was objectively good - but she just wasn’t what the managers of this agency were looking for. The chosen girls got up from their seats, walking with excitement down to the main offices.
All Yua wanted was to be chosen, to be standing where those girls were right now at the start of her idol journey, and yet here she was, seemingly grey to the world. Yua held back tears as the other people who failed the audition began to walk out the room, a dejected expression on her face.
She should feel happy for the girls they chose - and she’d seen Miyazawa’s audition. She was phenomenal when Yua was standing in the audition room, waiting her turn. But a happy ending for someone else meant an unhappy one for Yua, and no matter how many auditions she went through, Yua always seemed to be one of the girls leaving the room dejected and upset.
She caught a glance of herself in one of the mirrors as she walked to the exit of the building. She was just like the other girls who passed today, and yet she didn’t catch the eye of the judges and management of this company. She’d been waiting for the day she’d be accepted into an agency for months now, and yet it hasn’t happened.
In that moment, Yua felt like it was all over. In the eyes of the agency, she was not cut out to be an idol.

I thought it would be really fun to do a sort of secret agents meet sort of fic since there’s quite a few of them and I’ve included Hugh in here as I headcanon that him in a case of mistaken identity would be quite funny! I hope I’ve done all your characters justice and you enjoy reading this <3 Also for the sake of this story, VILE is now an intelligence agency, not a criminal organisation.
Also this was lowkey such a slog to write so I’m really sorry about the terrible writing quality in advance </3 I need to get back to studying guys~
⋆ ⊹ ┈┈┈┈┈「 ☆ 」┈┈┈┈┈ ⊹ ⋆
Cordelia wasn’t usually out on field missions. But for whatever reason, she was sent out with a mission: track down the wanted criminal Alastair Green, and bring him in for questioning. It wasn’t complicated, and it wasn’t supposed to be. That is, until she saw other people had seemingly beat her to the person she was chasing.
Cordelia followed them into an alleyway, being careful not to be seen. Two other people who had that secret agent look about them had cornered the person she was tracking down. One of them was wearing glasses, while the other one had her hair in a high ponytail.
“Alright, so, care to tell us why you’re being chased down by us?” The one wearing glasses asked, rather aggressively. She’d taken out one of her weapons, ready to use it to threaten him.
Cordelia crept closer, being careful to stay in the shadows.
“Man, I don’t know anything,” the teenager who was cornered replied. He seemed to be a high school senior - not a grown adult. Clearly, he wasn’t the wanted criminal Alasdair Green but the other two agents didn’t seem to care. “I was just heading back home from school…”
“Oh, really?” The same agent asked. “Well then, Alastair Green, care to tell us what you were doing today?”
“I’m… I’m not whoever you’re looking for,” he responded. “I’m Hugh Smith. I’m not involved in…”
He was cut off by an abrupt scoff. “Hugh Smith? Really, is that the best alias you can come up with?”
Cordelia moved closer, trying her best not to make a sound. She was rather abruptly cut off by the sound of the two agents talking.
“Hey, Lon, I think we might have been followed,” the other agent - the one with a high ponytail - whispered.
The first girl glanced around, her eyes searching for someone. “What, who’s there? Come show yourself before you get arrested.”
Uh-oh. They must have heard her sneaking around. Her thoughts were cut off by the sudden sound of someone thumping onto the ground next to her, clearly having leapt off one of the rooftops. The figure stepped into the light of the alleyway, looking crossly at the other two agents. She wore a different uniform to the first two agents - wait a minute, were three agencies after the same guy? That seemed a bit too much for Cordelia’s efficiency-orientated mind. Maybe they could all just work together.
“Well, I suppose we have a situation here,” the newcomer said in a strange voice. Her head turned to Cordelia’s in the alleyway, somehow knowing she was there. She crossed her arms. “That is, if you are also after Alastair Green.”
So she was also after the same person. Cordelia chose to move into the light, facing the other four people standing in the alleyway. “Look, he’s clearly not the person we’re looking for, so why don’t we just team up and search together? Surely that would be more efficient.”
“She’s not wrong,” the newcomer said. She was about to say something else when Cordelia saw Hugh Smith looking somewhat uncomfortable.
“Man, can I go now?” Hugh asked. It seemed that in their bickering, they’d forgotten he existed.
“I suppose you can,” The girl with a high ponytail hissed. “But we’ll be watching you.”
The four agents moved out of the way to let a rather shaken up civilian pass, before reconvening in the alleyway.
“I suppose introductions are in order, then, if we are working together,” the newcomer said. In the light, Cordelia could clearly see the agent’s half-masked face and her brown eyes relaxing.
“I never said we were working together,” ponytail girl replied. “I didn’t account for this in the plan!”
“But if we all work together, we’ll be able to find Alastair Green faster,” Cordelia pointed out, hoping it was obvious to the two rather hostile agents.
“Come on, think about it, Paris,” the glasses girl said.
It was a moment of long silence before the ponytail girl - Paris - responded. “Urgh, fine, you win, Lon.” She paused to glare at her partner, before continuing. “Well,” she said, annoyed, “I’m Paris, and this person over here is my partner London.”
“We work for VILE,” London added.
VILE, huh. Cordelia had heard of them before - they were some sort of agency that liked to focus on some of the more heist-y and breaking in parts of intelligence gathering. She’d never met any of their operatives before since the organisation was known for its secrecy. Cordelia wasn’t sure what she was expecting from their operatives, but constant bickering and bantering was not it.
“Uh, Argenta Sharp,” Cordelia said. She felt underqualified next to these agents who seemed like they had years of experience in the field. “I work for the Command Lab,” she added.
“Agent Laurissa Becker,” the half-masked agent said. “ERIS,” she added, almost as an afterthought. Another agency Cordelia had heard of, though they were a lot less secretive than VILE.
“Should- should we get started?” Cordelia asked. She really hoped they would not lose any more time, and with four of them working together with intelligence shared between them, she hoped that they’d be able to find him in no time. They’d lost enough time as it was.

you’d think an unaging vampire would have to move more often. secret creature of the night, apart from society but dependent on a job and the less romantic aspects of vampirism. if they thought to look, they might see something they don’t like. you’d think the abandoned house on the corner would draw more attention, that its lone undead resident would receive scrutiny. but, as cynthia has discovered in her two centuries, most people really don’t care enough to notice or notice enough to care. lazy humans.
works for her, though. she can be young and beautiful forever, she can watch as the world ages and decays around her, she can clock in and out at the same shift she’s been working since the store opened half a century ago, she can slip through the cracks of attention and carry on without outside speculation. loneliness looks good on her— not that she can check in the mirror.
“hello? did you hear me?” the boy is looking with a mix of disgust and exasperation. under his breath: “i knew i should’ve driven the extra fifteen minutes to avoid this dump…”
“sorry, sir, i’ll refund that for you.” of course she heard him, who did he think she was? she smiles, mouth open, teeth out, and takes the receipt from his outstretched hand.
“do i— know you?” disarmed, just as she wanted him.
“i get that a lot,” she laughs. “cousin’s in some movies, we’re almost identical.”
“no, no, that’s not—”
“did you want store credit or cash?” she meets his eyes, now, and remembers a day some forty years ago. a teenager, stumbling over himself to get her attention outside the cinema, back when movies were still worth watching. that’s no good.
“uh, credit, thanks,” and he definitely recognizes her, but she’s sticking to the script, so he will too. she hands him another receipt to sign and smiles again, this time teethless.
“thanks for shopping at—”
“cynthia,” he exhales, eyes wide. that’s strange, her name tag definitely says penelope. “the empire strikes back. my sister didn’t come home that night.”
“excuse me?” they never remembered. she never gave her name. a sister?
“you heard me.” fear is replaced by determination in his eyes, the set of his jaw. kimberly, that was her name. such a smart girl. still out there somewhere, given the heartbeat ringing in the back of her head. so that would make him…
“kyle.” she smiles, vicious, giving him a once over.
“aha!” he shouts, victorious. “it is you!”
“kyle, please, what are you talking about?”
“that night— you invited her with your friends— you laughed in my face— you with the constellation— the feather earrings—” he’s undoing himself. just one last push…
“i’m going to have to ask you to leave. don’t make me call security.”
“where is my sister!”
she reaches for the phone, he slaps it away and grabs her wrist. they’ve never done that before.
“where.” he grips her arm, tight. “is my sister.”
maybe she should reconsider her five century plan. whoever said a stagnant vampire couldn’t flee the city, state, country of her home? she’s always heard transylvania is beautiful in the spring.
“penelope, are you okay?” the voice from behind startles the boy and he drops his grip.
“ah, elsie, i was just about to call you over! spot of trouble with this gentleman’s refund, if you could give it a look?”
he leaves after that, but unsettlingly dissatisfied. he would be back, so she would have to run, for the first time. almost two hundred years wasn’t a bad run. maybe kimberly would have some advice on how to avoid her over-zealous brother.
or, maybe, haunting the middle-aged boy at every corner would be more fun.
