Prevent "New Scratchers" from being able to comment
An issue I see on Scratch a lot is that brand-new accounts are often used for spam, trolling, or inappropriate comments. A solution could be another Scratcher status before “New Scratcher” (e.x. “Brand New Scratcher”) where users with that status are unable to comment on projects, studios, and discussion forums for the first few hours/days after creating their account.
“Brand New Scratchers” would still be able to create projects, explore Scratch, follow others, and learn the platform.
Their ability to comment would automaticaly unlock after a short period of time once their account activity has grown, thus moving them up to the “New Scratcher” status.
The only places they would be able to comment are the any topics from ST members (e.g. ScratchCat, ScratcDesignStudio, etc.).
This would greatly help reduce spam and troll accounts while still welcoming actual new Scratchers.
Another option could be limiting comments during the first few days instead of blocking them entirely.
The goal is not to discourage new users, but to make the Scratch community safer and cleaner for everyone.

No support.
Scratch is a wider community where commenting is a huge part, and the abuse of New Scratcher accounts isn't that widespread

No support, this wouldn't stop the spammers because then they'd just need to wait a few days to get accounts ready, and this would seriously inconvenience new users for as long as the comment block's duration.
The ST works off of manual reports anyways, so they might not even know about the spammers at all before the comment block wears out. All this would do is stall some spam attacks for a couple days after they're planned, and the inconvenience to new users outweighs the benefits of stalling spammers for a couple days.

No support, giving helpful feedback is actually one of the ways you become a Scratcher. You cannot give feedback if you cannot post comments. There's more reasons I don't support this, but this is my main reason.
