1 - introduction
what is intersex?
intersex is an umbrella term (word covering a multitude of related topics/identities/items) commonly applied to people who fall out of the male/female category. this is usually due to reproductive traits that aren’t considered female or male. i would also like to note that intersex is not a disability/disorder of any sort. it is a natural variation of people, just like male and female.
2 - how it works
intersex can be many things, and everyone is different. most people are born with either xx chromosomes (female) or xy chromosomes (male). in the cases of individuals with intersex, their chromosomes can be different. there are three primary categories of intersex. 46, xy is someone with male chromosomes who have female traits (in simple terms). 46, xx is the other way around. lastly, there’s triple x syndrome and klinefelter (xxy) syndrome. i won’t go too into detail about the last two, because i believe nebulakit is 46, xx (correct me if i’m wrong)
3 - nebulakit’s opinion
since intersex is rare in cats, i was only able to find effects for people. hopefully this is okay! anyway, intersex doesn’t really harm the individual, so i figured i would just include what nebulakit thought about it. (also, and you can answer this on my profile, but is nebualkit infertile? because intersex people can both be infertile and fertile)
nebulakit won’t really know that they’re intersex until about apprenticeship (they’ll still identify as non-binary tho). when they find out, they will be slightly self-conscious about it, but otherwise be fine. when they grow up, they’ll slowly start to use she/her pronouns, just because they believe it suits them better.
4 - longterm/future
as i said, nebulakit will identify by she/her pronouns as a warrior, but use they/them when they are younger. nebulakit will not talk about her intersex, but will struggle to accept it as an apprentice/kit. they will most likely confide in their mother the moment they realize they are intersex

if i forgot something, please notify me! i’m used to roleplaying with female characters, so forgive me if i ever use she/her pronouns. thank you for the chance to roleplay with nebulakit!

please note : most sources used are heavily outdated. i only used them because i confirmed their information with the other! do not make something about intersex without having multiple sources
