I don't like Sprunki, I'm just talking about it because I want to know more about the rule against it.
1. Is it allowed to mention Sprunki in a project or in comments? It's not blocked by the filter so I think it's fine but I'm not 100% sure about it.

2. Can users be banned just for having “Sprunki” in their username? (this seems too harsh of a punishment for me, maybe the users could just ask the scratch team to change their username)

I don't think just a username with sprunki in it is enough to warrant a ban, but this topic casts some doubt on that.

no sprunki, generally avoid it

Sprunki is everywhere on Scratch, which is why you need to report all of these things because they are banned.
This includes, but not limited to; siggies, profile pictures, usernames, projects, bios, and comments/forum posts.

i'm going to elaborate a bit more on this
what i mean by this is just casually saying the word “sprunki” without showing images of it, or to say it to explain why it's banned which is what we're doing right now

It was due to the second phase being extremely violent towards children. And to avoid what happened with Five nights at freddys. Sprunki got banned.

2. There's a chance for that to happen, but it's less common after it got NFE'd, because users with that username are less easier to get caught by the Scratch Team as they are hidden because of the NFE

You should be fine explaining the policy regarding Sprunki and giving a surface level reason as to why it's banned (i.e. it gets graphically violent and a lot of inappropriate projects where being made of it.) Beyond that, I'd say not really.

I have a feeling that the username containing Sprunki isn't the sole cause of a ban, but rather if their username would explicitly promote Sprunki or the user has been making Sprunki projects. The topic that was linked here seems to indicate that the issue is the projects, not necessarily the username.
