Searching Projects by Project Content

Searching Projects by Project Content

Context
The current plans for the CLA will probably if it is done like that and working out mean, that projects will be pretty much be crawled and indexed, including their content.

Such indexing could in my opinion allow for way more advanced searching of projects.
February 03, 2026 (this might be wrong in the future, idk)

Suggestion:
I suggest that we use the fact that we already indexed all these things to expand our project searching capacities.
This could mean that you could be adding a feature to search for projects that contain for example a music file, a costume, a sprite, a background et cetera.
This also includes for using the description and credits for searching and the comments inside the project.

Also, this may allow for searching assets of projects (like sprites or costumes or scripts) based off their names or comments (as in script comments).

Such abilities might also allow Scratch moderation to remove bad projects faster by being able to detect them by specific content.
This does not include the usage of AI in the search process.

AI searching is a little different from Google searching, right? Sometimes I've seen AI used to try to find more information about a mathematical concept, for instance, and the AI will give correct explanations, but when providing the source sometimes the AI will give a link to something that doesn't exist. Is this something about AI that could be reasonably fixed? And are such concerns relevant for your suggestion?

I did not in this suggestion mean to use the AI in the searching process, but this is an interesting idea.
All I meant is that we can now search for projects using specific scripts, sprites etc if they are already indexed for the cla.

And AI powered search in this case might be really interesting, but I mostly left that out for being unsure about how mistaken it would be going to be.
In this case, yes, this might be kind of relevant for the CLA itself.

The AI powered search would allow us here to go even further though (in the sense of: search me a sprite that does xxxx). Maybe I might make this a seperate suggestion.
