text to speech unexpectedly waits

probably slow at loading because text to speech is a block that is like say (thing) and wait even though it doesnt say and wait

This is actually a real scratch glitch

I've encountered it as it is so annoying it pauses the Text to speech for 5 seconds instead of the regular 1 second, like back then it didn't happen and now it happens. Every device I got to, every project I go to, every scratch account I go through is the same thing that is happening, VERY LONG DELAY.

This is a server glitch and it happened to every scratch user who uses text to speech. Soon the bug might get fixed and will be all back to normal to 1 second instead of 5 second delay on speaking

This is a feature, not a bug.

The delay is dependent on both Scratch's servers and Amazon's servers. If Amazon's servers go down, infinite delay for you

When I was watching TVOKids Logo Bloopers, I tried to make them say something in simultaneously but it was taking too long to say anything. So fix it will ya, Scratch Team?

I even made a video about numbers counting to 100000 but if I watch it from now on, every time it reaches 3, the lag starts, and I'm tired of it! I tried EVERYTHING to get it working again, but it doesn't work. This goes for a lot of other projects that use text-to-speech? What do I need to do, Scratch Team? I was also making a Nano Gets Grounded project and that was the first thing that went wrong. Is there anything I can do?

It seems to be a bug with amazon or your device.

Can anyone test the delay on other devices? Also, there is a known bug on ChromeOS or Chrome (Don't remember) where the TTS is delayed.

There was a recent change that forces the delay between text to speech calls to be at least 4 seconds on average:

That must be the delay people are reporting about.

I sent a ticket to Scratch Team, and I didn't get an answer.

I have to make MIKU1 warning, and i said, “This project is wip.” and the text to speech said,“This RIP. ” Text-to-Speech didn't say “wip. ”

Yeah this is annoying, they need to fix this

The Scratch Show literaly runs on this feature!
