AI training from others projects is not a good idea.
Before I begin, note that I am not from America, and my English may be slow and horrible.
What is AI training?
For those who don't know, AI training is when AI is left to think alone in a room for 15-16 hours to solve math problems or other things, and when the AI people come back, they reinforce the thoughts that went with and solved the problem- and thus adding different gradients.
But in this case, AI is being trained of user projects- kids projects. The AI will be able to access and be trained by kids projects- a horrible idea.
Why is it bad?
AI should not be used on a children's website. Training them off children's projects is not a good idea. AI can easily make mistakes, and artists who spend time on their work don't want their work to be a training tool for an AI bot. I personally think AI can be good if taken in the right direction. (No superAI)
AI should not be using kid's projects to train it, AI should not be added to Scratch itself. (Unless its a help-bot that doesn't make projects, and only helps.)
What should be added?
Some users may want their projects to be used for AI trainng. Some may not.
Users should be able to choose certain projects to be used for AI training, or just opt out of it entirely.
Common aurgements
“Why does it matter, its just art.” - Art is purely human made, and if AI can make human-like art- then millons of artists world wide will lose their jobs. Scratch is a childerns site. Meaning kids artwork will be used.
“But it helps the AI.” - Some users dont want to help the AI. The opt out.

Closing
In all, AI is not a good look for Scratch, and will cause many users to leave the site. (We don't want a Roblox 2.0) Users should be able to opt out of the AI training.
Have a wonderful day,

hey you know AstarotLegend, anyways yes i agree, like what is it training? why? what use does it have? it's confusing and unfair to the people who work hard to make art and share it on here (heard it would have ai image generation, which why? it takes water, which takes water form animals, which makes me unhappy), also ai moderation is going to be a thing apparently which is ALSO a bad idea, i'm not one to rant about scratch but geez this makes no sense to do

Bumming this too.
I think you probably know the reasons why aside from the horrible ramifications that is killing normal water supplies.

edit: AI is not training off our art, and is instead training off our code. I'm sorry if I came across as harsh or anything.

I do not know AstrorotLengend, sorry! Their in my studio though (:
Yes, I don't think the AI training is a horrible idea, but people who do think its an horrible idea should be able to opt out. The scratch team has stated that AI image generation will not be coming to Scratch- but the can always change their minds. AI moderation makes some sense- The Scratch team is a non-profit and it costs money to hire mods, like a lot- and the Scratch team doesn't make much money or have a steady supply. I do not like the idea of AI moderation, but there is not much of a choice sadly.

That's fair. but Its unlikely that the Scratch team would need people's art to train an helper bot to help people code. While the TOS did say that- I don't think that they will have much reason, unless the helper-bot needs to generate assets.

'Right now' means exactly that.
