Welcome to the Stick Saga Development Roadmaps thread!
*THIS THREAD IS CURRENTLY A WORK IN PROGRESS*
*THIS THREAD IS CURRENTLY A WORK IN PROGRESS*
This topic is mostly a place to hold development roadmaps. Please keep general discussion to the main forum. If you want to discuss elements of the roadmap, however, feel free to post here! This topic will probably constantly be changing as both development continues and I figure out better ways to format this. Make sure to check in every so often! If you are not on the Stick Team, please DO NOT POST HERE!
If you want to learn more about Stick Saga, check out the Stick Team studio.
If you wish to apply for the Stick Team, please check out the main discussion forum for Stick Saga.
Otherwise, this topic shouldn't concern you - have a nice day!
Don't worry about bumping this topic. This means you, Amgilmo… <0 ><0 >
Need to access a certain roadmap quickly? There's a handy Table of Contents at the end of every post (but before my signature!) It's signified by a bold black line, and contains a quick link to every part of the forum! I recommend you navigate with it primarily, as this forum might get disordered and generally be confusing to traverse. Check it out below!

About Roadmaps
Roadmaps list off goals for specific parts of Stick Saga, such as the story, the gameplay, or the engine. They are, in essence, fancy to-do lists. There's not just one roadmap for the entirety of Stick Saga! Different components of the game will have separate roadmaps, and they'll progress at different rates.
Know your Roadmaps
It's important to make sure you're looking at the right roadmap for the parts of Stick Saga you contribute to. It's a bit difficult to draw battle music, after all. You can tell which roadmap you're looking at by looking at the first line of that post; it will usually be in large bold letters and will briefly describe which aspect of the game it's talking about, e.g. “Overworld,” “Battle Engine,” “Story Design,” etc. Additionally, the Table of Contents will label the post you're currently on with (YOU ARE HERE), so look at the Table of Contents if you need to quickly navigate!
Goals
The main component of a roadmap are goals. Goals are exactly what they sound like; they're benchmarks for progress. Upcoming goals are marked in bold blue, current goals are marked in bold red, and finished goals are marked in bold green. Goals are organized by the order they should be completed, starting with the earliest goals at the top and the latest goals at the bottom.
Note that goals do not have a deadline! It doesn't matter at what time they're done, it matters that they're done. Additionally, goals are not a completely linear structure. If needed, multiple goals can be “current” simultaneously. This shouldn't be a common occurrence, though.
Tasks
Underneath every goal are tasks. Tasks are essentially sub-goals; they're stepping stones to completing the main goal. Tasks are listed out underneath a goal in a list. In that list, important tasks are listed in boldface and completed tasks are struck through. Unlike goals, tasks can be completed in any order, and they're usually ordered arbitrarily. However important tasks should usually be done first.
Reliance on Other Goals
There's a chance that a goal/task may require another goal/task to be completed first in such a way to where the basic top-to-bottom list format will not suffice. In that case, the dependency will be listed to the side of the goal or task (in grey, encased in parenthesis, and italicized) and will usually say what needs to be completed, e.g. (Requires “Add free hot dogs”). If that item is part of another roadmap, an additional part will say which roadmap that requirement is a part of, e.g. (Requires “Add free hot dogs” - Coupon Redemption). Finally, if the required goal/task is complete, it will be struck through.

I'll take “Placeholders” for $400.
The delay required between two posts.
What is 60 seconds?
That's correct!

Final placeholder! I guess I'll just type out some silly self-referential meta joke while I wait for the delay to expire. This honestly feels a bit silly in it of itself, but what are ya gonna do, y'know? Anyways, I think it's been a minute, so here goes!
