Best school chair [fictional product]
Let's make the best school chair!!!
Currently, school chairs are rigid, hard, and somewhat uncomfortable. unfortunately cubeupload is down so this is what i mean by school chair https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1262788323/
Can everyone here give ideas to make them better? Such as, material changes, posture differences, anatomy and even psychology!
They still have to be somewhat cheap to be able to be mass produced in schools though, but the shape is definitely one of the things we need to fix.
Once we are done, I will turn this into a real model using Fusion 360, Blender and make a fun little commercial video based off it!

Saw this topic and clicked on it— because why not?
The chairs at my school are these.
They always fall apart, and you cannot repair them, so there's just a stack of chair legs and chair seats in the copy room.
We should probably use easily repairable things like regular screws and somehow make a better design so it won't fall apart.
Also, definitely make it resistant to leaning back; most of the chairs at my school break because people like to lean back in them (yes, even me).
I'm gonna stay following this topic
…maybe make a studio for it?

I was definitely thinking about the leaning (I have the same chairs basically) ,
I was thinking of:
making the legs more like monobloc chairs, but the shape of the legs is harder to do with the steel that these chairs use, and using just pure plastic is brittle
or, we could add an extra leg to make it like office chairs, just without the wheels

We also have these “nicer” chairs. More comfortable to sit in, but can still be broken by leaning back. Maybe we should add some sort of extended frame that supports the back. I think anything “spinny” like the office chair would be problematic as students would be spinning around.

my school has these:we do also have these more comfy ones (but very customized) in the grade pods too, as well as grey floor stools that everyone steals the wheels off of.

Guys I’m done with this prototype, but there are clear issues:
The chair is (probably) more stable with the legs like that, but they aren’t stackable which is a big reason as to why schools use these chairs in the first place.
It might be more expensive
Forgot to add ventilation holes
Well, it’s just a prototype. It’s not supposed to be very detailed.
Here are the pictures:

Here is the direct download link for the blend file.

I don't have blender, but I made this (very badly) in windows paint.

oh great it worked, my first image (by myself) on the forums! : )
So, there would be two frames supporting the bottom and then frames supporting the back.
They would be kept together just with regular screws for easy reparability.
The two parts of the chair (back and seat) would be apart for ventilation

The chair u made has a back that leans too much backwards which promotes bad posture and sleeping/not paying attention.
I also found this https://toadfish.com/products/non-tipping-20oz-tumbler?srsltid=AfmBOopInkZgCtwG02EFvO1Fkx2gPh_C3gnLZxO2cVQqKYlVbBb2JXJb
(IDK if the url will work). We should use this where the center of mass is lower so the chance of tipping is less. Also the wont be able to stack with five legs
also do we want it armless or not

i think we should move on…
what would happen if you combined greencube and sushicat's prototypes?
sadly idk how to do that because sushicat's prototype is so badly drawn it just looks like a bunch of lines and squares
