What did I miss since mid 2024?
What happened with Scratch? I haven't been on here much in a year or so. I'm almost 21 now, and I saw something today that reminded me of Scratch. What's going on?

What did I miss since mid 2024?
Well uh trending froze, scratch introduced a membership, trending had a really bad project up for 6 hours, remix spammers have become prevalent, many scratchers left, generic platformers don't really exist anymore, scratch has a set thumbnail button and turned purple, high contrast was introduced, there is a debug page for the editor, there are new 2 letter usernames who are Japanese.
It's a lot to take in but welcome back

There's a new extension in the editor!
They removed the remix tree
https://scratch.mit.edu/starter-projects got a revamp but it's not working (at least for me I think) right now.
A confirmation box will now appear when deleting a sprite.
The Community Guidelines and Ideas pages were updated with a new look. The Ideas page now features an idea generator and videos from the Scratch Team's YouTube channel, while the Community Guidelines page was updated to unify with the 3.0 design used on other pages
https://scratch.mit.edu/ideas
https://scratch.mit.edu/community_guidelines/
The message received whenever somebody remixes a project has been updated to no longer state the name of the remix.
Student accounts no longer have the ability to create studios or invite curators.
The ‘Recent’ tab on the Explore page has been removed.
A new button to set the thumbnail of a project has been added to the project page.
The footer on Scratch 3.0 pages has been updated.
A small blue rotating circle will now appear on the top left when loading a project.
Scratch 4.0 was announced in a job link
The profile page has been updated to increase the gap between the profile picture and the username and the follow button has been centered.
The look for project thumbnails in studios has been updated.
Cat blocks are going to be a permanent addition in the editor
membership people get cat ears on their profile

Please remember that “Questions About Scratch” is here to help Scratchers learn Scratch - the website and the language. Let's please not take up space with other topics. A studio might be a good place for those discussions.
