Is it possible to store possibly thousands of strings on the scratch cloud? (I want to make a Live, Online auction house system for a tcg)Yes, if you use a backend script use modules like ScratchAttach or Scratch Connect that allow you to connect to Scratch Cloud Variables. But the limit will still stay 256 numbers per cloud variable.
Also, could you elaborate on what your trying to make.
